A water colour portrait of a black swan
Arched nostrils above its yellow beak
Inside its cold eyes-hope a glint of white
Neatly folded grey progressing to black wings
Each feather layered in perfect synch. Neat.
Yellow feet lurk in the shimmering water.
Top marks at school, but discarded
To the garden shed, the coal bunker
Where winter fuel, dried and ripened
I found it and brought indoors and
Showed it to mum, asked who drew this?
Your sister. Already in awe, but couldn’t
Understand why this wasn’t treasured.
Sixty years on, your pedestal dissolved
Fallen. This swan an image of your self.
The yellow beak fooled for many years
The glint of the eye, slyness and deception
Your character’s like the body of the swan
Thirty percent below the line, a mystery
Souls, like swans, are to most pure white.
Your soul personified by your own hand
In an A level water colour: Jet Black Swan.

Discarded in the shed by the coal bunker
Black on black, in the dark and discarded
It’s yellow beak a contrast, hint of light
In this lifetime full of yearning;
through which came wishing and dreaming;
within many splendid, unquiet flairs;
a voice murmured the word, ‘prayer!’
I was needy and you were solicitous,
my mind strayed to the felonious.
Instead I uncovered brazen devotion,
a perkiness brought such an inner commotion.
I screamed out in misery, 'Is that a blessing?'
Mattering, assaultive and mindful distressing;
Urging and purging within my slyness,
my shyness, my outright otherness.
My mind could not or would not awaken.
Tossing the ghost into all forsaken,
'It's that barrenness,' I muttered.
Queryingly back into memories, now cluttered
I craved an eclectic, or electric luminescence
the yearning, was an essential evanescence
the evolutionists laughed at us in retort.
'It's that piety,' I whispered before the court.
The Judge looked on, a bit beguiled,
as the Saintliness beamed and simply smiled.
I had a friend who was full of snideness
said I nicked his bike but I was in Cyprus
told people for years with total slyness
bitterness is always a trait with surprises
What’s more is he made up this story,
tells it causing an air which deplores me,
also tells all I make up stories
and they treat me bad or ignore me,
savage stains on my reputation
and no one knows I was out of the nation,
I did nothing on this occasion
still they don’t get my frustration
If I confront why should I feel bad
he did something he shouldn’t have
that’s the reason I now shout out mad
because he did something he shouldn’t have
Dom says I stole his bike but he’s talking grit
I wonder what else he says like a git,
I could have found him give him a hit
but I’d rather tell you I didn’t do it
Through the set screen of a cower cover
A tyrant terror of the self resides;
Forming a merged mind with opposing sides.
Persuasion being his asset to uncover
Your desires and wants he will discover;
With deceiving decisions he provides,
His slyness and adroit nature coincides —
Whilst morality slowly starts to suffer.
Even though a bitter baleful self reigns,
His upending flaw finally I discern.
Acceptance of the hostile self, I learn
Of Mindfulness and the power it attains;
Conscious of the present moment I earn,
Forging the coaction of the True Self in turn —
You really have excelled yourself I must say this time around ,
your slyness and your nastiness you really need a crown.
What a show what a hero you really must be proud, you made a spectacle of yourself what a performance take a bow.
It wasn’t enough to lie to me and in front of everyone you put me on show, you told everyone i kicked you out thats not the truth and you know.
You had already taken half your things you packed the night before, but as you know your always the victim you always suffer more.
I hope your happy now my gut tells me there someone else, and its no surprise really it wasn’t that hard to tell.
So go on and be with her I’m sure she’s more your type, i hope she doesn’t clean or wash hopefully shes all you like.
You may have made a fool out of me for a while but it won’t happen again, i won’t get angry or bitter cause karma will be for you in the end.
The Perennial Prayer
First the recognition
of one's hallowed identity..
Pausing there
experiencing the wholeness
and abounding love..
Then new recognition
of the real creation
within and made of
one's identity..
Obvious..no separation:
earth and heaven..
This new birthing
of life on earth
still needing bread and
forgiveness cleansing
for our forgetting..
Recognizing ego's slyness
to fill new identity
leading to temptation..
Knowing finally
with peace and joy:
The Kingdom already
IS
Here and Now...
Beautiful white sands welcome my feet
into the ocean, with their soft, wet, coarse
sensation. The ocean is warm and cool
at the same time. It tempts me to stay
longer without uttering a word. Its
temptation, I swear it, is stronger
than girls in bikinis, who want to have fun.
The Mombasa people too tempt you to stay;
they call you "brother", "sister," "son",
"daughter".....though you are a stranger.
They smile at you without any scorn,
slyness, or expecting anything in return.
Their smile is natural and innocent.
They serve you a cup of tea
without asking for it,
and offer you a seat. They ask about
your journey, home and destination. You feel
as though you had met in a past life.
"You have met God!" people tell me
when I return to the city.
"I found Him in Mombasa," comes my response.
Epigram #78:
CORROSION
Question your vain motives,
Watch slyness corrosive.

THERE ARE SO MANY PREACHERS TRYING TO BE TEACHERS BUT INSTEAD THEY ARE LEACHERS.
LYING,CHEATING AND CREEPING AROUND LIKE A SNAKE IN THE GRASS COVERING UP HIS SLYNESS WITH SOPHISTICATION AND CLASS.
THE DEACONS ARE CREEPING ON WHO THEY CAN PREY ON NEXT WHO THEY CAN DEVOUR WHO THEY CAN EAT UP.
PRETENDING TO SHOW SINCERITY WHILE ALL THE TIME THEY ARE LOOKING FOR WHO THEY CAN PULL INTO THEIR OWN CIRCLE.
THE LADIES LOOK DOWN ON THE OUTSIDERS FAILING TO REALIZING THAT THEY WERE ONCE IN THEIR SHOES.
THEIR NOSES RISE SO HIGH IF IT RAINED THEY WOULD DROWN SNIFFING THEIR FANCY PERFUMES INSTEAD OF BREATHING THE WORD OF GOD.
INSTEAD OF MINISTERING TO THOSE IN NEED THEY ARE AT EACH OTHER'S THROATS TRYING TO UPSTAGE EACH OTHER.
WITH OUTFITS,CARS AND OTHER MATERIAL THINGS IT IS SUCH A SHAME HOW THE PEOPLE IN THE HOUSE OF THE LORD BEHAVE.
WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF GOING TO CHURCH IF YOU ARE GOING TO BE ANGRY.
WHAT IS THE POINT OF GOING TO CHURCH IF IT IS NOT FOR THE LORD.
WHAT IS THE POINT OF GOING TO CHURCH IF IT IS NOT FOR THE RIGHT REASONS.
PLEASE HELP ME TO UNDERSTAND THAT IF PEOPLE WOULD STOP AND LOOK AT THEMSELVES BEFORE THEY LOOK AT ANYONE ESLE THEY WOULD KNOW THAT!
Let all clouds vanish as snow
and blueness reign as no winds blow;
let creation astonish me with its mystery,
pushing me further until I knock down every boundary.
What I will find should be precious and rare,
like diamonds that have been polished to glare...
this is not that visionary dream I'll pursue half way,
and then I'll give up when temptation makes me go astray.
Strength will challenge me, slowing me down,
making me weary not being able to wear that crown;
never counting the hundreds of jewels that make it glitter and shine,
or the pounds of fine gold that took to built it with hands racing with time.
Any thief would snatch it away and hide from himself and others,
and perhaps his guilt won't affect his greed or the slyness of his act;
would a sound head steal it to appease his foolish urge that seldom satisfies...
failing to see what events will be revealed beyond that beautiful and fine artifact?

" I See Beyond... "
I have the power of a thousand Gods
I am full of lust and apprehension
With me, game's over.
I creep through this world
Gaining ground, always one step ahead.
I have eyes of knives that see right through your soul.
Sharp tongued that cuts to your core.
I hold my attitude toward life
In a vault, safe from thieves in the night.
I am too much and too little
Too strong.
Too smart.
Too cunning.
Too witty.
I wear a warrior's cloak.
At war with myself
At peace with myself.
Knowledge is my partner
I win, I do not lose.
Completely mysterious and invisible at times.
A ghost zipping among you.
I am my own hero, I can not be fooled.
I fill the air with fear and bravery.
Dancing to the beat of my own drum.
Certain of any outcome.
Study me, then study me again.
I suprise myself with my slyness.
I am all and nothing as I seem.
An explosion
Of sensation
Sinking in
Swimming through my skin
Up my spine
Around my mind
Take me in
I am yours
Open doors
Pristine shores
Makes me soar
Lost years
fighting wars
Found my fears
Cried my tears
no longer whole
Lost control
Ate my soul
Wasting dryness
Too much slyness
your my highness
Overflowing
with your glowing motion
drowning in
your perfect ocean
didicated to p.d. my queen of everything
three years into the war, things went amiss,
intellegence failed to impress upon this,
sunday7/12/41.that was a fateful day,
pearl was devestated, and not from far away.
a small isle called oahu didn't know what,
now the u.s. fleet was a smouldering dot,
within two hours five battleships were sunk,
sixteen damaged, hundreds of planes now junk.
only chance saved the carriers, they weren't there,
based at pearl, but had been sent elsewhere,
on our american boys this day took it's toll,
2400 of life lost control,1178 were badly maimed,
because japan said "these isles can be tamed"
they thought they had the right to dominate,
like italy and hitler were to dictate,
pearl harbour was a means to an end,
the japs thought it would ake roosevelt bend,
it didn't work,it blew up in their face,
this one they'd loose and be in disgrace.
the morale wasn't weakened, the opposite in fact,
it made our boys with determination react,
through slyness, round one the japs had to win,
but then the battle was to begin,
not many left to remember what they saw,
finally these brave young americans won the war.
