Not Me But Mine

My heartbeat is within these lines,
rhythmic dances keeping time.
Like lovers drinking, out to dine,
I picture us, not ‘me’ but ‘mine’.
Spouting lyrics, oaths divine,
I wait and wish for some small sign.

Jaded giving up on love
a butterfly lands gently on her hand
~ suddenly she slights her doubts

Premium Member Pondering a Hospital Sign

square blue sign on a pole
large crisp white H on it
white border
underneath it is a tinier blue sign with a white arrow
universal signal showing how to reach a hospital

I imagine a driver from out-of-state trying to breathe
they are racing from blue H signs to blue H signs
this might mean several miles of racing
what if they miss one that turned left?

Would their death be an accident or are deaths preplanned all along?

Premium Member Sign on the line that is dotted

They just want your money.
Just want your wealth.
Meagre or major they’ll take it all else.

Post sale and the manner changes in tone.
Commission awarded - it’s time to go home.

They’ll try to convince you that you need it to live!
They’ll try to persuade you that you’re doing the right thing.

But they just want your money. They’d take it and take it all. Smiles and so jolly until the deal ends it’s call.

They just want your money. They don’t care how hard it came by. They just want your money and hope you’ll be swooned by their guile.

Premium Member Window Sign

In a window this sign:
Fresh buns and tarts daily,
and, by-the-way, keep in mind
this is a bakery.

I throw stuff away next to my dumpster on Tuesday
a drum, orange chair, baby car seat, wagon and a desk
they sit there until the following Wednesday
That’s when I put a FREE sign on them
They are gone in an hour

Leaders Of Tomorrow

Been around the world
seen some strange sights in my time
and looking back
my favourite is a roadway sign
of yellow and black
viewed in the U.S.A.
which read
(intellectually challenged?)
'SLOW CHILDREN AT PLAY'

Premium Member An Outward Sign

An outward sign, instituted by Christ to give us grace.
A gift from God to show His love for all the human race.
And in return, He asks but that we follow and believe,
So, open up your hearts and lives, that grace you might receive.

You want to get to heaven but need help along the way
To keep you on the narrow path as you live day to day.
These seven sacraments that give us sanctifying grace
That we might win the race, and look upon our Savior’s face…

Yes, seven sacraments to place divine life in our souls
That we might live in holiness with heaven as our goal.
And we receive the love and life of Jesus Christ, our Lord
That we might be restored to God’s good graces evermore!

In Baptism we are reborn as Children of the Father.
In Confirmation He gives strength to be His sons and daughters.
In the Holy Eucharist Christ gives Himself as food
Through Penance we’re forgiven for not living as we should.
Anointing of the Sick can heal us at the end of life.
Through Matrimony man and woman become husband and wife.
Finally, through Holy Orders men can become priests
That Jesus’ holy work on earth might never, ever cease…

Premium Member only one sign they had been there

Supply ships arrived ready to delight the colonists
It was a strange eerie day on Roanoke Island
No colonist ran out to greet them
The ship crews searched for them
They had vanished

The word Croatan was carved into an oak tree
The only indication they had been there at all
No bodies were found, no drag marks
No sign of a struggle
It was a spooky time for the crew

Premium Member Sign of the Times

Little Davie wants to pray like a pro
Too bad for Davie that he doesn’t know
        His mentor is a fraud
        His conduct deeply flawed
Every night, to the peep-shows he does go

I'll Sign the Silence

you take the sunshine, ill take the shade
and we'll grow apart,
I'll keep the rain and snow,
the moonbeam's gaze,
the trees that shiver when they sway,
and you'll get all the sunny days,
the friendly waves, the "are you ok?" 's
and per the terms of my departure
i promise not to make a martyr
of the bumps and bruises I've sustained
so I could try to brave your pain
despite the years only adding tears
ill sign the silence -disappear

Sun Sign

When the moon is in your sun,
A journey has begun,
Let the Heart and Mind become one.
Be careful not to come undone,
Or you have to wait for the next one.
A journey of creation,
Climbs a ladder for the occasion,
60 hrs of rotation,
A milky white invasion,
Enters the station.
Ready to climb again,
To the place the honey is made in,
The real Vegas Vacation,
A Pineal creation.
Together waiting in the brain,
72 more in rotation,
Then comes the rain,
Falling through the vessel again.
Blessing the whole strain,
Remain witness to this,
As you start to feel the bliss,
A milk and honey kiss.
Your body heals from this,
The Heart feels the promise,
Brain signals the release,
Chemicals bringing peace.
Truth to your belief,
Relief in what comes undone,
About 6 days after it begun,
A sign the moon was in your sun.
