The day is cold, the snow is deep
I sit alone and begin to weep
Why do I feel I have to keep
Your memory from falling fast asleep
I feel as though the road is too steep
And that I no longer can compete
Outside the snowfall turns to sleet
I feel my energy in this starting to deplete
I feel like part of the army is yelling Retreat!
I can no longer keep my feelings discrete
I am trapped in a box filled with deceit
Feeling like I can't contain the bittersweet
Memories of our past – and as they rise I leave receipt
With your friends and your family and upon the seat
As I walk down the lonely, long Memory Street
My heart is alone and I suddenly see wheat
Waving in the wind, a sign that it is complete
The harvest is come – what a treat.
Of the world that we live in, and all that we know,
From the seeds that take root in the rich soil below,
To the sun in the sky and the tides on the shore,
We are seeing a wonder, we’re seeing much more.
Oh, the light of the morning, a soft, gentle gleam,
Or the peace that arrives with a welcoming dream.
We just look at the stars with a soft, quiet sigh,
At the marvelous grace of the clouds drifting by.
There is life in each breath that we take in the air,
In the intricate patterns we see everywhere.
In the simple design of a leaf or a tree,
Lies a boundless and deep, silent mystery.
Not a moment that passes, not ever a day,
But a new little miracle comes on its way.
For the whole of existence, the simple and grand,
It’s a gift we can hold in the palm of our hand.
What I'd like to give you, is an ounce of my perfume
Sharing like we use too, we never took or did presume.
Sisters growing together, our bond very tight,
Though when little children, had the odd minor fight.
Forward to that day when your beauty fell asleep
Family hearts broken, many tears we all did weep.
Losing you, was the hardest thing, I've had too bear
Mourning, grieving deeply, wailing cries of despair.
Time went by people told me, dreams they had of you
I had no visitation dreams, which left me feeling blue.
The evening of my birthday, alone in the back room
Suddenly I smelt, the aroma of your perfume.
Walking around searching, trying to find out where
Hoping and wanting, I would find you standing there.
My cousin who was visiting, strolled into the room
That exact moment, gone was your scented bloom.
I asked if he could smell anything, within the room air
"No" came his puzzled reply "nothing anywhere"
Was it my imagination? or a subconscious wish?
This was the first birthday, without my little sis.
I truly believe, you was there, and sent me a sign
Your birthday gift telling me, your never far behind.
Warming glows of inner peace, I no longer felt alone
Together we'll be again, when God calls to bring me home.

For years and years
I lived the curse of all women
A woman’s work is never done
That is, never finished
The more work I did the more work showed up
The To Do list was never ending
If I made a dent in it
You couldn’t tell
It was multiple pages and still
I refused to forget a single item
I used to work my To Do list and hope
For some opening somewhere somehow someday
Where I would be able to read, take a candlelit bath
Go for a leisurely walk, paint, write poetry
It never happened
My ever growing To Do list
Had stopped even giving me the glimmer of hope
I was just that crazy hamster busy at her wheel
Till one day
I was late with a painting I had promised
I was pushed to the wall I had no choice
I just had to focus on my craft and not think of anything else
I went at it and focused and focused
It wasn’t easy but I eventually got it done
It was an awesome feeling to finally sign my name
And say it was D-O-N-E
But my celebration was more to me
About having won over time
Time who had always been so elusive
So demanding so full of orders and ultimatums
Seeming so rigid and inflexible
All of a sudden I had decided
I would ignore it
Along with my long list of To Do’s
And surprisingly life went on…
Nothing drastic happened
Nothing fell apart
Nothing exploded
I was actually stunned to tell you the truth
I had once learned about
The differences between Important and Urgent
But my power over it never really sunk in until then
Now I have a new life
Where my Important priorities are in front of me
Where I can reach the one or the other
And the dishes get done but not till I decide to take a break
I do my best to add less to my To Do list
And most of all, pace myself instead of
Trying to kill myself racing through it all
It may seem to you like a small paradigm shift
But to me, my life is turned inside out for the better

The young wide-eyed owlet was almost too cold to hoot
He sat in the crook of the oak, looking at his left boot
He needs a little cap, I will knit him the farmer’s wife said.
Okay agreed her husband, but please do not make it red.
If it is red he might be mistaken for a buzzard and hurt or worse.
His wife ran to get her car keys, her i.d. and her new purse.
Where are you going? I thought you had yarn already.
If I am going to create, I want his hat brand new, Freddy.
Her husband Fred knew enough to back off when she called him Freddy.
A sign that she means business since they first started going steady.
The next day she fitted the owlet way up high in the sycamore tree.
Good grief! Said her farmer husband, he looks comfier than me!
Sleeping Beauty move over, you got fierce competition
Ain't no vicious rumor,
but dead serious joke
cuz no princess
can kiss bajillion times
to get yours truly woke
ah... just one garden variety generic
Geico Frog Prince
(in actuality I
wanna be caveman bloke)
nothing will disrupt me,
not even minor noose,
so hence go ahead
to get dude duke to choke,
or light a fire under my keister,
nsync with strong arms
issuing lances jabbing poke
but natural gas within me
will endanger nearby folk.
Now listen up,
cuz Zarathustra hath spoke
randomly selected Matthew Scott Harris
sitting prettily athwart
(think Boy George of Culture Club)
on his toadstool,
his (courtesy Zarathustra)
divine inspiration he doth not cloak
couched admonition forewarning
demise kisser will croak
unless he/she qualifies as
bonifide LGBTQ - okey doke
don't say, I did not give fair warning,
while going for broke
courtesy one gay (ping) small/medium
at large frog, usually found soak
king up sunbeams
nonchalantly taking toke
exotic blend comprising
flies, mosquitoes, moths
and damn dragonflies
after they did marinate and soak
within solution mainly egg yolk
to offer greatest smoke.
Oh don't be confused, flummoxed,
nor ill humored regarding mine
married status with tadpoles
totalling ahem... sixty nine
heterosexual biological reproduction
consummated as faux sign
unable to retrofit, reddit, ribbit...
no I honest got a short backbone (spine)
with large hip bone to support
powerful leg muscles taut as pine
yet smooth and glassy as River Seine
out true self before I feign to croak
purportedly rumor heard thru grapevine,
but twitch started by yours truly.
Postscript: my apology,
noah arked intent cited as offender
toward any living creature sexual gender
who might take objection regarding
unfairly labeled, hashtagged,
as duped pretender
cuz thy persona, karma,
charisma... genuinely legally tender.

Old friend calls
How are you?
Song of long ago
~~~~~~~~~
Old condo ambience
Familiar faces converge;
Robot moods
~~~~~~~~~
Chinese tea
Aids digestion;
Sip fond brew
~~~~~~~~~
Cute boys charm
Innocence wakes up;
Naughty sparkles
~~~~~~~~~
Last journal entry
Some time ago;
Death punctuates
~~~~~~~~~
Illiterate old lady
Well-educated son;
Lovely finesse
~~~~~~~~~
In your eyes
Love tells;
Affair complete
~~~~~~~~~
Age comes clashing
Old bones brittle;
Mental meltdown
~~~~~~~~~
Cold morning wind
Wet warning sign;
Dark clouds cluster
~~~~~~~~~
In your fond smile
Love lingers long;
Sad farewell binds
~~~~~~~~~
Airport tarmac
Big birds fly;
Distant destinations
~~~~~~~~~
Blurry awareness
Early wake-up call;
Consciously sleepy
~~~~~~~~~
Poise of choice
Waiting game here;
Late arrival

As marriages are made in heaven
God is our Matchmaker
Yet, they are worked out on earth!
Our families get their names from Him
As He is the stronger party
In this love triangle!
His covenant with us becomes
The overarching Covenant
That supersedes every
Other covenant in our lives!
He has promised to be the
Miracle Worker, the Way Maker
Who turns water into wine!
Something beautiful out of the ordinary
Where we become a sign and marvel
As families give thanks to God
Because of our life together!
Where God is the Head of our home
Where we become one and
A threefold cord is not easily broken!
Although our follies and fallacies
Can interfere, strain and stain!
Yet, God in His mercy stands ready
To renew and revive our covenant
With Him, our spouses, kith and kin!
Covenants are sealed forever with His Blood
And with His eternal plans and purposes
To bring happiness and gladness
On earth and in heaven!
Do you slurp when you eat your soup
It's perfectly okay you know
In the rules for soup, especially tomato
Slurping SHOULD be audible I'm told
Also messing up a clean white tuxedo
Is also a law of the kitchen
To proudly display it for a couple of days
It proves you have been smitten
It's definitely a sign of aristocracy it seems
Servants used to wipe up the mess
You'd never ever think of cleaning it yourself
Beneath your standing I guess
Eating your soup without some slurping
Is banned in certain countries
Also must dribble it's part of the scene
And helps if you're wearing just undies

April 27 Praises to God Bible Meditations Based on 2Kings 20-22
Key Verse – 2Kings 20:8 And Hezekiah said unto Isaiah, What shall be the sign that the LORD will heal me, and that I shall go up into the house of the LORD the third day?
PRAISE BE TO GOD WHO HEALS US
Praise be to God for healing us with His:
Deliverance from sin’s ailment
Defense above selfishness-affliction
Dominion over stubbornness’ arrogance
Decontamination against shame-abomination
Direction toward salvation-assurance and sanctification-affirmation
2Kings 21:22 Praise be to the Lord Who warns us not to
forsake Him; thus, we should walk in His way that:
Produces fruitfulness with His blessings
Powers faithfulness by His beckoning brightness
Prevents futility in His blossoming
Props faith upon His Book
Protects fervour through His bravery
2Kings 22:19 Praise be to the Saviour for
teaching us to humble before Him in:
Trusting His great reign
Triumphing in His gracious revival
Testifying about His good report
Telling His glad restoration
Toiling for His grand reward. Amen!
