Bearable

Here comes the snow
      (Sob)... There goes my lawn
Yogi the Bear's peeked out his cave
Stretched ~ and yawned a big yawn

Midnight Motion

The moon yawned
  The wind roared
  The earth is fond
  of my heart that soars.
      The rivers all run
   The trees dance
   Nature as one
   Love by chance.

Tired

There once was a poet so tired
She tried writing though quite uninspired.
She rubbed eyes and she yawned
	‘Til it finally dawned
On her – she lacked the spark she required.

Willy's Ragged Old Mop

Willy's hair looked like a ragged old mop
His loving wife told him, 'Go get it cropped!'
He sat down in the chair
Yawned, 'I've got hair to spare'
Willy woke up with a shiny bald top

From a 23rd Century Text

The gates of Time yawned back,
And let the Western seas attack,
Hurling tidal waves
That turned the towns to graves.

Atlantis sank before—
And then the California shore
Settled out of view
Below Pacific blue.

In Denial

O for a world at peace;
Heat of its rage, past.
We're nigh. Its the dusking hour.
Shadowing prey's last.

Skipping o'er battlefield facts
Unquenched in faces
Look! How tame in the moonlight
Roaring's yawned traces.

Media

This is today's news:
A sinkhole swallowed a man whole
as the earth yawned

in the ancient land
of monsoons and man-of-wars
after the waters

ceased. One was portrayed as
man suddenly gone, captured
live for us to see.

The Honey and the Vinegar

Once I had the opportunity
For hard-earned, sweet success
But I yawned instead and spurned my chance
To labour and progress

And so my potential festered
Scorned sourly in defeat
Now I am left with vinegar
In place of honey sweet.

A Day Outside

It's nice out.
It's sunny.
Warm.
and funny.

I ran.
Have fun.
And skate.
with my mate.

We got tired.
then got hired.
to mow a lawn.
then we yawned.

We went home.
I got something to eat.
it was a treat.
then we went to sleep.

Golden Majesty

A wink from the sun woke me at dawn.
I yawned, lazily stretched and smiled as
I felt the gentle touch of his warm fingers.
With golden majesty, he rose in the sky,
greeting the morning with his usual flair.

The Day

The day stretched and began to stir.
it yawned and made
leaves sway.
It showered in the mist and rain,
then dressed in clouds of gray.
It worked its way through treetops,
had lunch on a
tranquil lake
then laid down on the forest floor,
and took a
well earned break.

A Gilded Carriage

The adulterer and adulteress rode In a gilded carriage, while horses strode Many looked on with pride Others hated the ride Most of the world yawned in blasé mode
I had some thoughts when they said he was the leader of the Church Of England.

The Snowy Swan

The snowy swan skates on the pond
with brilliancy and innocence.
The ice-covered platinum blonde—
the snowy swan skates on the pond.
Sun’s mellowness of groovy yawned.
The athlete’s dawn drives diligence.
One snowy swan skates on the pond
with brilliancy and innocence.

Summer Morn

Dawn gently woke the sun on this summer morn He yawned with splayed fingers of tepid light dappling brown cattails along the river's bank and gilded the wings of mosquito hawks in flight December 17, 2021 Bite Size Poem #30 Contest Sponsor: Line Gauthier

Heaven Bestows

Catherine yawned today
made no mention of the prix
she had to pay
Love is a cussing word
She did the best she could
Gonna reinvent the wheel

The swallow always knows
and the doughty willow
fades to grey
And how heaven bestows
whispers to her flock
but we turn ourselves
into vessels of hope

And the Whispered Hmm Bites

sifting shifting streams
falling star trying to get away from the others
Neb you
lah to follow
so powerful e
motive to be a ware-we need more wares
Tiggering (as in like Pooh's Tigger)
spond
spond
get it respawned
and yawned
how many of you have died
but still i awe at your deadlight
and the whispered hmm bites

Vying Voluptuous Verge

eerie earth belched
callous creed's crest
nocturnal nature nauseated
dark dribbles cremated
hoisted hankering cruised
sassy soil puked

rusty rims yawned
puncturing pulpy pawn
tactic trend torn

bruised bark bent
mystic moaning etched
saucy seal spent

lofty lids lurched
vying voluptuous verge.

Kitty Yawned An Inspiration

The kitty’s yawn roused me from my chair
Made me smile and want a little nap.
She stretched her body from here to there.
I said you darling, come sit in my lap.

She stuck up her nose and wandered away.
Into country air, with no bit of smog.
The kind of cat who had her own way.
Fine, because I had a cozy nap with the dog.

The Rave On

once up on a midnight
clearly...
while i yawned all weak
and...

barely over many a pain
too...
clear volumes from gutt'n
more...

and while i knotted nearly
rapping...
suddenly there came a
crapping...

and a rapping at the door
"this"...
i muttered "be my chamber
only"...

and not
a...
thing
more...

Pulsing Pear Blushed

pruning pulpy pear
tactic tier's there
passion pasting prayers
fostering fallible fair
felon figs belched
contractions cobbling crest

whooshing wind yawned
tucking tainted flaws
owed to draws

then a coda
mystic melody murdered
concerto grosso clustered

pulsing pear blushed
leering lanky lust.

The Exquisite Morning

The morning yawned and opened it's eyes. The sun emerged and flung it's light. Beginning the day to my eyes an awesome sight. Opaque droplets on the flowers were like glittering diamonds in the sun. Never in all of creation have i seen a more exquisite morn. Thinking this day just begun when i walked with GOD in the garden as the day was being born

God Morning Cyber World

11 April 2014 5:15am

The air is cool my coffee is hot
My furry friend beside me in his comfy spot

I returned from my dreams
and their surrealist scenes
I stretched and yawned
now I await the dawn

Typing away to new found friends
in a world nonexistent but never ends
Hello cyber world God bless you too
have fun today what ever you do
