Summer Morn

Dawn gently woke the sun on this summer morn
He yawned with splayed fingers of tepid light
dappling brown cattails along the river's bank
and gilded the wings of mosquito hawks in flight

I love the description of the sun's rays as fingers. The personification of dawn and sun works beautifully in this lovely descriptive piece Lin. Cheers - Gary

"In my youth I woke on such sweet summer morns. My darling beside me, my joy reborn. And truly wondrous was the risen sun. Our day ahead full of love and great fun." Your fine poem enticed that stanza right on out of me quick as a wink and a splash. Such beautiful imagery you paint! A fav ans a true gem too.. God bless..
