Bikini Blues
On Saturday night in Waikiki
The teenagers turn rather freaky
Though blue as a smurf
They all love to surf
Like a Kahanamoku tiki!...

Aloha
Waikiki has no friendly pawn
In a flash all my cash has gone
But its really grand
To lie on the sand
Thinking of you with nothing on . . . ....

Her Shell
A lady on Waikiki Beach
Was bone-white from drinking Trump's bleach
But Trump did not gloat
For she could not vote
She's no longer a Georgia peach!...

Yaw Did It
May Day is "Lei Day" in Waikiki
But this year girls are looking sneaky
They're all wearing masks
And carrying flasks
But their swank is still rather cheeky...

Premium Member Let the Buyer Beware
If it sounds too good to be true
The low price is the clue
So what would you say
To a resort on Waikiki Bay
That costs you but two hours pay
~ Caveat emptor! -- Stay away!...

Premium Member Santa Had a Change of Aloha
There's Santa that came to Waikiki bay
On an outrigger canoe Christmas Day
He wore a grass hula skirt
And a large Aloha shirt
His course went astray he opted to play

Sharks
The sharks in Hawai'i
Just love a good feast
Fresh from Japan
Or somewhere back East

There's always the cost -
An arm or a leg -
But natives will carve you
A coconut peg

So jump in the ocean!
Its really a thrill
To watch baby sharks
Share their first kill!...

Pearl of Great Price
Kelea was a pretty girl
Who loved to surf with rip & curl
She felt so alive
When surfers would dive
Just to see Kelea's pink pearl*

*  Kelea Nui-Noho-'Ana 'Api 'Api
was said to be the most beautiful woman on
earth, married Lo Lale, High Chief of Lihu'e,
but left him to surf the waves off Waikiki. ...

Past Panoramic Pic
That tiki bar on Waikiki that spun so slowly round
To view The Market Place across the street and then towards the Clouds
Next Queen’s Surf and then the sea and sand Thru stacks of boards
To the luau tables at The Sands and the Kaiser pink hotel
Sipping slowly feeling good lonely everso
reminiscing palmswept winds
of too damned long ago...

Greedy Ol' Da
What do you want for your birthday dad?
How about a table at Queen’s Surf
Waikiki
Sipping a mixed drink
Listening to the Chief of Police
Singing a song
As a sliver moon
Crests Diamond Head
Red Gold

Or a day on Mac’s lobster boat
Following Novi dog
To keep from underfoot
Enjoying the company
Of fellow travelers
Both joyfully aware

Greedy Old Dad
Settling for Now
And
Quiet
Joy...

Sunset Beach
Here I am on the isle of Oahu.
This Hawaii vacation was long overdue.
There's a lot to see in Honolulu City.
Have you heard of the beach called Waikiki?
With the sand and the palm trees, it looks quite pretty.
However, if I want to get away for a while,
I will just take a short trek to the north of the isle.
There's a nicer place within a short driving reach.
Spend some time with me at Sunset Beach....

Premium Member Leonard My Brownie
Leonard he is and Leonard he’ll be.
Born one fine day in a hollow oak tree.
When he came out he started chasing me.
A tiny little brownie built like a pee wee.
He and I once went on a little growing spree.
We planted flowers with relish and warm glee.
Never knowing how much fun it could be,
Brownie Leonard, sunlight, water and me.
He is gone right now, visiting Waikiki.
I cannot wait until my brownie returns to me....

Premium Member When Snow Fell On Waikiki
Sunshine turned to cold sleet
Palm trees froze in place
Tourists walked down white streets.
to shop for hats and boots

Beach boys left the beaches;
 Surfboards were turned to sleds.
Rather than surfing waves
they slid down Diamond Head.

No more graceful hula;
grass skirts became passé.
Dressed in lederhosen,
slap-polka was the rage.

Don Ho found a new song
to thrill his many fans
 ‘Tiny toddies,’ every-
one, makes us all feel warm.

’..’.’’…….

red dawn tickles flirting dragonflies
on palettes kissing wind’s delight
clusters of boughs glint on trees
cuddling nectar on arms,
sun whispers love
a twirling feast
all creation
sipping
dew!
