Elegant devoutness
In worshipping grandness...

timely vespers
you were with her at lourdes
whilst the sun was shining
two worlds became one
light flickers
from the water edge
bread and wine are your sole ambition
trust in vespers
a catalogue of goodliness

Whiskey Whispers
Whispers of vespers
I am tickled by nocturnal whiskers
whisking away the camera roll
of morning and afternoon
whiskey pictures
a picnic bowl of marvelous
madman mixtures
I voice my witch doctor
opinions with high dialect scriptures...

Three fifty two—as with me
As with you
A deep darkness
Not a truck nor plane vibration
No distance sounds
Complete silence
No lights no radiation
Perhaps the flutter of air
No hoots from owls
Not even a mouse whisper
During this night no vespers
The peace is complete
Harbinger
Sighs...

The Leper King
Born in 1161, Jerusalem had a son
An heir to the throne, an ill one
Moving and acting a normal son
A bloody prey, eaten inside of the Chosen One.

For people's wealth, his left arm prospers
For brotherhood and peace, his right arm decrease
Health ebbed his vespers
Perished in 1185, with mask and sheaths
  to cloak his disease......

Redemption
David J Walker

The unrelenting quest
For the rest of
What was meant to be said
The best intentions

	Mislaid
Mislead conventions
Discarded convictions

Colors of lost horizons
Least of the left last rites

The Vespers
	of whispers
The worshipers
The shoplifters
			all
	Seek redemption

Before the end of the end
Of the evening
		To come...

Premium Member From My Morning Stoop
from my morning stoop
a cloudy magenta sky
softly takes.my soul free-flight
lost in God's beauty
I murmur golden vespers
as one angel flutters in flight

a soft english rain falls
revealing a rainbow
gracefully brushing
the western slope
of yellow back ridge

I rise to my feet
sipping a hot cup of coffee
smiling upon God's grace
I forge onward
to begin a glorious day...

After your butterfly alighted my dreams,
I never forgot your kiss,
You became the object of my vespers,
The refuge for my injured toiling chest.
I await your spectacle, your curtain call.
Your fragile teasing dance.
Like Groundhog Day, I predict your fluttering
Wings, the wavy flurry of your bowstrings,
Again and again.
What wonder comes next?
Are you counting down my dreams?...

Mother...
When night did then soft vespers raise
To holy heights a herald,
Sad Earth farewell'd and gentle sighed
As her little rose took flight...

And the world was less the splendorous
Though Heaven grew the richer-
Unboundaried Love by Love well hailed
'Pon shining shores of Evermore...

Noble soul, take well thy rest
And deathless dance midst saints!
As dew-drowned eyes due tribute pay
At the whisper of Mother's name......

Conflicting Desires:
Arising in me
are the voices
of two different
worlds.

One calls for closeness_____
with
its rise of
passion and gentle decline.

The other calls for
distance
without voices clamoring
for attention.

Ears that are yet
weary of
human sounds
and physical closeness.

Distancing from vespers,
It calls up pain________
not understanding____to
weary to ask.

Just needing space
to heal,
Space that honors
what is!...

the sack cloth lay
black as ash upon the mourners
the sack cloth lay
tears could not soften or defray
rods could not break its rough corners
upon witnesses at vespers
the sack cloth lay

Revelation 11:3
And I will cause my two witnesses to prophesy
a thousand two hundred and sixty days dressed in sackcloth...
Romans 12:19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves,
but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written,
Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord....

Scrolls To Venus
December susurrations mingle
in this lissome isthmus

and our wispy Vespers,
these suspired planets

gossip along misty vistas
of silvery insinuations
and hushed hints.

The fractured lisps
of elusive revelations
curl in the breeze,

a gypsy veil

between shivering lips
in the cusp
of our trysting breaths.

Ascending daystars converse
in this lexis of secrets
and draw us a scroll to Venus
with each breathless ellipsis
between whispers....

A Climax of Vespers
The dark fantasies
of forbidden,
lusts and silhouettes
of scarlet passions.

The lovers,
they mingle
like serpents asunder,
coiling about,
becoming entwined
as chaos
to the enthralls
of jealousy.

Jealousy. . .
with no means
of explanation.
The lovers' emotions
again embrace. . .
feelings
of anger,
of hatred,
arise,
fueling their desires.

Their feelings of loss
and emptiness
flow,
as dismal squalls
of nothingness
cry out
like a climax of vespers....
