The gentle beauty of your blooms
are delicate and exquisite to the touch ~
your history's fraught with wrongdoing
but through ne'er fault of your own

Ode To Hope

The palm
that holds the truth
     is
     unlined

uncorrupted by evil
     pure in its
     self

chaste of defiling
      untarnished
      shining

straining forward
     I reach to embrace
an
     empty
     hand.

An Unused Life

I want a life with no regrets
one shiny, bright, and new
bereft of stains and rips and tears
untarnished and unused.

No dents or dings, not slightly worn
refurbished just won't do
I want a life with no regrets
and I want it minus you.

Mother's Instinct

A mother's heart
Always knows her child
Whatever, whenever, wherever.

A mother's eyes
Always defeated by her feelings
Situation, occasion, intuition.

A mother's love
Always lends a helping hand
Unrequited, untarnished, unconditional.

Every well worn pair of cocktail gloves
quietly passed down
untarnished but imperfect
always stretches to a perfect fit;
Lace left with unforgettable
imprints from every manicured hand
too unique to ever be identical,
yet the style fits each woman equally.

The Old One

The Old One

The old one reached down
into the cellar of his remembrance
and found a faded image
of a paramour;
a love known so long ago.

He cherished
its lustrous glow,
and in his heart's forge
shaped a silver frame
to hold the beauty
untarnished by time.

HOLY---

Holy cleanse vessels without spot nor wrinkle.

Orderly fixed in spiritual and of physical realms.

Laundered flawless immaculate intangibles pure.

Yearning of dexterous proficiency untarnished unsoiled.

Fragile – Handle With Fear

Yes
No
Maybe
why oh why
can’t it be simply
a decision based on the facts
untarnished by the inadequacy of feelings,
a determination of truth arrived at through a consensual understanding.

Sadless

Taking the tear in mid flow
Wiping the effect but untarnished the cause continues
Salt sphericals ousted from their nest
Breathing down my sobs
each sigh another weight added
solitude for the lonely
and pain without a source or stimuli
Standing on the edge of nothing
as it falls into you

Premium Member Prose Poetry Youth

Confidence of youth, certainty of self untarnished by reality,
time or ill-health.Swagger without substance, energy that cries aloud
for the skies,a shootingstar across the heavens, bright and fast to fade & disappear, such pace cannot last.Beauty of youth, lost in a sigh where
yesterday’s dreams wave goodbye.

Gold

Think of yourself as Gold
Fashioned in a star
Blazing bright
Untarnished no matter

Think of yourself as Enduring
Reliable as the star
Shining light
Unhurried no matter

Think of yourself as Wonder
Conceived in love
Born perfect
Unencumbered by strife

Think of yourself as Beautiful

I painted us perfect

I painted us perfect,
love's untarnished gleam,
but your control chipped away
at the heart of my dream.
Five years, a gilded cage
where freedom slipped away,
now your betrayal's echo
darkens every day.
His whispers poisoned trust,
his games left me confined,
wounds deep and lingering,
a love redefined.

Magician

Drunkard are you,
But my fantasy of
You remains
Untarnished.

Strolling,
through trees
in Wine Country
Your kiss is
Ever so intoxicating.

Until you're inside
me I can't bear
this anticipation

Although we've
Never met, and
You probably don't
Exist.

You are indeed
my secret lover,
full of surprises

And more than a
Rabbit hidden in
Your hat.

Premium Member Beauty So Rare

A blue so blue appeared in the sky
purer than the blue of a maiden's eye
Poking a hole through puff-clouds billowy white
its majesty moving those who prize sight

I wonder if it knows, as I marvel in awe
at its beauty so rare, no unperceived flaw
Or is its struggle to emerge so all-consuming
naivete yet untarnished ~ pristine, unassuming

Woman

I have the strength to nurture

I have the courage to protect

I have enough love to heal any heart or any part of me that is stricken

I am eternal. Evolving.

Transformations cut me.

Tragedies sear my skin yet my soul remains untarnished

And my heart's beat is complete

I am a gift that is received and given

I am here. I am woman.

 At last, I know me.

Absorbent

There is something unexhausted of you
in this aging washed-out coat
and I lift my nose
to taste the smell that desires
to be invited-
ignited in the closing of your breath,
untarnished and thirsty.
Like rage, it licks,
streams,
and enters my dreams
glossy as brilliance-
you-
rush in my mentation
with warmth that comforts
my skin.
I breathe you in unfathomable-
not wanting to exhale.

Premium Member Pearls of Wisdom

I want to write
some beautiful words...
I want to craft some
beautiful thoughts...

I want to string them all together
like a strand
of the finest pearls...

Untarnished Symmetry...
Unblemished...
Circular.
Chaste.

Like a strand
of the finest pearls
to be worn
around my soul.

Premium Member six degrees of desperation

I have grown weary of the truth
Blighted soothsayer soliloquies
Shouted from hand-made signs
Railing against self-made silence
Shattered beliefs drowning
In doubt’s echoless dungeon
Stained glass demons
Muted by mindless dust
Leaded beauty denied
Untarnished expression

An old woman waits on the corner
Knowing she may go hungry today
Rats scurry in the alleys
Knowing that they won’t

In the cobalt depth serene,
where silence whispers,
concealed aquatic elegance
transforms the gift of the sea
into spheres of opalescence
within clammed hidden heart,
a beauty shaped from fluid dream.

the luster of nascent desire nucleates
layer on layer luminous,

New Voices

Nobody knew me,
  and that was my choice

The distance I kept
  protecting my voice

Though others had promised,
  their words fell in vain

My spirit untarnished
   whose breath I lay claim

My heart often suffered
  the pain I’d been caused

But a force pulled me inward,
  all hurt left on pause

This pathway my own,
  its direction so clear

Where alone I must travel
  —new voices to hear

Objet D'Art

She stands there, still
Untarnished by society
As the onlookers flash
Their many lights at her
Of the deepest beauty
She stands tall above
All who dare to compare
The classic look of her
To the modern look
That we call beauty today

Her eyes, illuminated
By the various flashes
Blink not at the many
Who try to sway her
She is constant, as she
Was when first created
Will be constant, as she
Is forever gazed upon in awe
Set by her masters hands

Genesis

On a day when nothing pleases you,
not land, sea or sky - a vision,
a natural completeness
of nature unfolds.

Shedding all former perceptions,
you see a world unmasked,
its untarnished visage
now reflecting only perfection.

Before you, blossoms a reality,
an ageless beauty
that had yet to be imagined.

The purity cannot hold for long,
the world returns,
wearing its shadow-laced rags
once more,

but you remember,
and your eyes are clearer.
