Love Walked In
She came up for air and
Found she had gotten lost
In the undercurrent,
Swept away by a forbidden
Yesterday.

Subsequence, Part Iii
III

He waited in the downpour,
swept along the muddy river
with dead leaves and old receipts;
tugged into the undercurrent
without as much as farewell
from coupled brake lights glowing cold....

Sea and Solitude
Light in abalone
breaking iridescent skin
Know me or don't know me
but by all means, please let me in

Sea storm undercurrent
stirring swirls of liquid sand
Serve as my deterrent
as you take me by the hand~...

The Taste of Bitterness
Just like the sea won't let the waves escape
but reels them back in again and again
to frothy, crested peaks,
so goes the man, who bitterness keeps.
A barreling undercurrent, tumultuous pull
which drags you back under, long-winded until
you don't know the sky from the water......

     Notorious songs,
     Playing along.
     Announcing the undercurrent
     Of frustration and distrust.
     To belong is fairly simple.
     Open the door,
     See all the people!
     Put the phones down!
     Start chatting,
     Perhaps laughing and clowning around!...

NEW MORNING

                   aurora of panes
                                          fleeing of yesterday’s pains
       new morning breeds joy
                                              a joyless undercurrent
 left bereft by sunbright soak

Grime Under the Tablecloth
Grime under the table cloth

Beneath the fluorescent lights and sterile walls,
Lurks an undercurrent of unspoken strife.
The daggers are kept hidden, the words unsaid,
But the tension is palpable,
A throbbing wound.
For all the forced cordiality,
the animosity seethes underneath.

Imperative Methodology
Just when the quick peruse
Turns obtuse
Thereby roundly refused
That noose for an excuse

We made the day quake with paper
Gracious allowance
By overwriting the undercurrent
Betting down for stamps in the sky

The commander brands his mule
Make the work horse a tuning fork
And finance a forgotten tomb
The evidence of genealogy...

Premium Member Drink of the Flowing Pens
I feel the undercurrent, of the ever-flowing rivers

That feed the wells, and springs of pens

The depth of words, flowing again

Hemingway became a lake

Emily a brook

Pouring out for our partake

Drink deeply now from cups poured then

Springs flowing out across time's glens

Rhyme and prose in Poets rose, in out-flowing of these givers...

Vilma
Vilma

Her eyes and her smile
were the qualities of soul,
reached out through her essence
she brought all into the fold,
all goodness and sanity
in a world of messy things,
she worked through the undercurrent
she helped the angels sing,
"We'll miss her" is an understatement
she surfaced into our lives,
with her undivided giving
in memory we abide....

OPAQUENESS

     Posing introvert,
      being aloof and alert,
      remaining inert,
      You are staying far apart
     possessing an opaque heart.

     I am transparent
     owning bright heart salient.
     Waiting fervent.
     Me luminous radiant.
     Opaqueness undercurrent.

Premium Member Undercurrent of Melancholy
Waking to the sadness called “a new day”
truth passes over the mind
love one just cannot find

Hiding the undercurrent of a sigh
the heart refuses to breathe
and stays melancholy

Sleeping in the shadows of lonely nights
dreams foretell of future loss
bid barefoot wanderings

Refreshed
Centuries wade
Waves cascade
Rippling remorse
Runs it course
Weathering force
Distant source
Beneath the surface
Undercurrent
Cleansing extinct
Purities obsolete
Blood allege
Evolved allergy
Seventy percent
Of existence
Lies in waste
Rust filled taste
Chemical imbalance
Toxic rain
Can’t complain
Better to remain
Corrosive cold
Wetted earth
Dying of thirst
Poison dew stain
Evidence on the pane
We’ve not long to stay...

Tell Me
Does the wind blow the same color
on your side of life?
Perhaps Eastcoast dialect carries an undercurrent
I just don’t get.
What’s truth for me
    may mean naught to you.
Your trees turn brilliant leaves in Fall
while my catus flowers softly white and peach
both fit for the eye delicious
    whatever the climate.
Stand before these bright eyes green
and tell me again what you said before
and let me watch yours.
"Friend."...

Premium Member Bastet the Egyptian Goddess
Dog sits staring at Bastet
She is regal
Her gold collar majestic
We are both mesmerized subjects
Her minions – the dog and I
Her silent subtle commands
Are quickly answered
We bring her nip and her drink
We have both sensed the deep wrath
That is the undercurrent of this Egyptian cat
More powerful than a sand storm
More royal than any pharaoh ancient or otherwise
Baste sits, plotting our demise, designing our tombs.
The dog and I shudder....

When Bad News Calls
When Bad News Calls

A ring can bring the freeze of fear.
A loved one in harm, helplessness.
There falls a crackling atmosphere,
Paralysis like vibrating wires through your being.

Hours and days of anxiety,
Replacing routines and normalcy.
Hand-gripping eves of dark anticipation;
Would that love were not so definitive.

But there is no other way;
No other way desirous.
In the undercurrent lives the river of hope –
Hope of joyful restoration....

Salt of His Sea
Diving into the whorled
undercurrent of your passion,
a sizzling madness
greedily devours my aching need --
Caught in the under- toe
of your magnetic current,
my trembling body drips
in ecstasies within a water's bed.

Eagerly riding the tide of lust
through a liquid love,
I drown in your throbbing swell --
the moss, musk of a male's salty sea.
Waves of pure rapture explore
a heart, fancy ,and gurgles
unleashing laps from paddles
the circles of rolling intensity....
