Satan Is
SATAN is:

a mind bending
  never ending
     reptilian
    slithering
   underbelly
      licking
    taste of
ashes to ashes
      and
dust to dust
      fame....

Contrasting Dreams
Dreaming
In the underbelly
Of the night
Brings hope or
Sometimes desperation
Hope drifts in
On little cat feet
Roars out with
The pride of a lion
Desperation roars in
Like a ferocious tiger
Drifts out taking
Your sleep with it...

SNAKE VERSUS CROW

the tail rattled. with its black heart

and glaring attention, the crow

pecks. road burn on the underbelly

as the snake slithers down

to the creek. crow can occupy

as sentry to my property, presently.

Underbelly
Unlocking,
the silver knife.
The poetry matters,
when it is dark.

      *

Night,
has its own secrets, when,
dew spreads out
the beadings on grass.

       *

Blackbuck was ready
to shed the antlers.
Moon was hornless.

Free Verse Blues
A poem
comes out a long trailing of words,
tendrils of heart,
shadows of the soul,
sweeping across this great, great place,
like a spirit seeking home.
And finding that
sweet spot,
the soft underbelly
of a grey and troubled world,
somehow my
words
comfort
me.

Nuclear Nights
Slowly drifting on a billowing cloud
the languid liquids drench the underbelly
of the moons ethereal glow.
The dreamscape transitions from
dark to light.
Shockwaves shiver and melt into
lakes of mercurial sky.
Fire flashes, breathing new life
into Nuclear Nights born of
creative overflow....

I once had a Manx who constantly primped; her white underbelly never sported one piece of grass or dirt. She kept so clean and fluffy that we’d no idea he’d had her backside chewed up for three days, by an Opossum! In altercation My cat became Opossum Chow wearing teeth marks.

Perversion
Again. The search
will start
for the virgin truth.

Unseen. The invisible
character, unfolds
a bipolar paradox.

So far. I have come
groping in dark
for a terpsichare.

Spineless. You
fly in the wordless
blues of the veins.

The underbelly
was smooth, tied with a
criminal moon.

Acidic Touch
The dafthood of it all
is overwhelming
at times.
I am a fool, and my
foolishness
is not a mirrored
human mannerism
or shared trait,
but a pious
and unique flaw
I have been
taught
to champion
as my truth.
It is my sharp
knee, and
my uni-brow.
It is a welt
on the underbelly
of my tongue,
craving the
acidic touch
of citrus drinks....

Long Nights On Warm Seas
An underbelly of warm linen.
How the bed sways under our press!
Years tangle sheets into memories.

Tropical the damp limbs of intimacy;
long hair doused with coconut oils
dark coils, erotic scents
catching fire once more
between empty hands.

A cold man warms his mind,
relives a passion
only a creaking bed once lost at sea
can now recall....

Brainwashism
Desensitized
from the world'd murky underbelly
self mutilate your soul
free your mind
serve the masses to the wolves
controlled by greedy mercenaries
hungry for power
society corrupted by corporate logos
brainwashed to purchase the goods
materialism to the very core
money equals power
equals corruption
billions spent on warfare
kill to make that green
evil has no borders...

Falling Silently
The land withdrew into white

Black brittle bone limbs and branches

Scrape at a sagging blue gray underbelly of sky

A northern world descends in to itself

Dreams slow to a dead stop

Then everything reverses

As it has as far as can be remembered

Submerged slipping inward close

Below an ice frost skin

My lips trace the curves of your eyelids

In the ground covered in snow....

Red Maple
Red Maple

Water seeking roots,
Leaf margin-toothed,
What is hunger

To one always hungry?
Sated by superiority, dead
wood cut by a neck

So pruned of stubble, so
Neonatal it disappears when
Turned sideways. Flat red

Coat stitched with peduncles
Of beaded ivory ripples in a
Wind that whitens the underbelly.

The roar of hunger
Sounds off. Its echoes
The deepest scarlet.

in the wee hours
of the morning
i love to watch the sun
stretch its arms lazily
as it thinks about
rising ever so slowly
and the october leaves
so sparse are fluttering
in breathless anticipation
for a few warm rays
to caress their dorsal fins
and underbelly

Skyscrapers, sheathed in glass, stretch to the sky as a convoluted maze of asphalt rivers connect concrete caves they flow by. Patches of green appear like mold on cheese amidst bright neon lights, corruption, and sleaze. All cities have a dark underbelly; they're overcrowded, noisy, and smelly. At rush hour, when traffic slows to a crawl, a beggar begging to fill his belly doesn't find city streets friendly; not at all.

They say its impossible to have both a pleasant and foul
thought simultaneously that may or may not be true..
but It seems that the foul ones are much stickier
adhering to the soft underbelly of the mind
a toxic build up of blue times
engulfing all light eventually.
Pleasant thoughts are hummingbird like
flitting from synapse to synapse
disappearing into the seam of the unknown
coming back the next time with a
tinge of blue on the tongue...
