I Don'T Bother With Flu Jabs
Its flu jab season again
But I always give them a pass
I self medicate with alcohol
It really is first class
So just say to the doc
When he starts to tut
That a shot in your glass
Is better than one in the butt...

King Tut
Young king Tut, time honoured pharaoh
In rage, deaf like the sea, with fires impatience

Boy king worshipped as a God
The daintiest last, to make the end most sweet.

Buried with skill not food for worms
But time for him grants a heavier doom...

By
David Kavanagh

True story this, when they opened Tutankhamuns
Sarcophagus, Imagine their bewilderment to
find King Tut's mummy, and his symbolically
embalmed erect phallus
Perhaps this is what Lord Carnarvon thought...

Rebuttal
hey,y'know what?
there's always a but
life's never clear cut
nor open and shut
no matter what -
there's always a but
whenever you feel
you have a done deal
9 times out of 10
someone will then-
admonish tut,tut
which simply means but
it is without fail
as plain as the tail
on a boardinghouse mutt-
there's always a butt!...

A Spell
Tut, the Sklent Age!
where fire of faith?
the cursed, do ache!
no need more hate.

No sip of remnant,
my bread like sweat,
as ill luck eminent,
has salty bet.

Go cap in hand to it,
bend down an’ down,
into the deep a slip…
attain renown?

No dark! be bright! –
break in forever,
by chance ignite,
extinguish never!...

Premium Member Cats and Rat and Coconut
Cats and rat and coconut.
Dancing off each stomach gut.
I would join them undercut.
They might flitter, fuss and frut.
Inner door not firmly shut?
Glad I am not in their rut.
Cats live dancing in the strut.
Rat ran off and showed his butt.
Coconut hides in the grass hut.
Likeable butt-in-sky mallard mutt.
Runs to me with a tut, tut, tut.
Cats and rat and coconut.
Delight me with their loud putt-putt....

Premium Member Rainy Day Play
Tut, tut, we’ve got ourselves a rain!
The ram pump’s singing songs again.
Up and down it pumps along
The foot valve clanging like a gong.
And it will run until rain slows,
The pond is full and overflows.
I gotta say I love the way
The pump ejects its two arced sprays.
The tanks, high upon the hill,
Have ample room within them still.
And though the rain is near complete,
To play this way is pretty sweet....

Floating
Jenny, they say,
will face a tragedy.
Is it not something always
predicted this way?

Will it be Jenny?
Or Pete or Paul?
We glance every day among
those tabloid papers - so many.

We read headlines, blink,
then another front page;
or see this or that on TV.
Yes, we tut-tut.

We always go
this self-same way.
You reach an advanced age.
So so.

Ah yes,
so so.

Wall Street
While Wall Street takes the plunge
-	What next is there to come?
It’s enough to make one lunge
-	Greed caused this mess to come

Though it’s nice to have the fineries in life
-	Who is going to pay the price?
You can’t take it with you in the afterlife
-	This too was the Egyptians vice

They, too, accumulated wealth
-	Who did it serve in the end?
Even though Tut lost his health
-	He couldn’t take it with him in the end...

Keep Mouth Shut and Bury With King Tut
tune could not carry
horrible sound would vary
and also very

latest scuttlebutt
trump should keep his big mouth shut
bury with King Tut

they will realize
after hearing all the cries
forgot my french fries

peter forgot to pay paul
when he slipped in shower stall
out from had to haul

many need to feed
must have a group who agreed
should no longer speed

stock market did dive
many hard times would arrive
with God should survive...

From My Window
A robin perched upon a branch outside my living room window His lighthearted disposition roused within me a reverie. With eyes closed firmly I conjured a heretofore different scene: A naked limb laden with snow and a cold loneliness prevailed gazing through a closed, frosted pane… My eyes opened, the thrush was gone no trace vestige of abstract snow though out of sight his song was heard Cheerio, Cheeriup, tut tut !! from outside my open window.

Tush
Heading to the river, there’s
A field of planted grass,
The perfect place to sunbathe
Or to show the world your ass.

For stretched out on a blanket,
With her thong exposed to air,
Was a woman who was proud to flash
Her skinny derriere.

Most passersby did notice,
Slowing down to tut-tut-tut,
Yet the woman seemed oblivious
To eyes upon her butt.

I am certain there are places
Where no one would be opposed
To the sight of someone’s tush
Quite so unclassily exposed....

Sweet 21 Water Brown
I spent my 21st birthday
In a squalid old bed and breakfast
On the outskirts of Liverpool

That cost me $10 to light
And 20 a night
With the only bathroom
1 floor down

The toilet water brown
Pungently scented
The bed fermented

Now 21 years on
My 42 birthday hath come
And the only thing that has changed

Is I am further estranged
From what is luck
What be deemed chance

And the all too familiar
Side wise glance
Tut of derision
Privilege based on class

Shatters still my heart of glass...

Es Tut Mir Leid
Why do I have these mixed feelings
When you are near?
I still think of you
And still want you here.

I messed up and I hurt you
I don't want to do it again.
I try to forget about us
And what we had just began.

I let myself hurt you.
I killed our relationship.
I let selfishness come over me.
I didn't know I was just making my heart rip.

I hate this feeling
Of not knowing what to do.
Should I leave or stick around?
Because I fell in love with you...

Es tut mir leid......

The Goddess Nut
There once was this goddess named Nut
Who was found in the tomb of King Tut
Her head was a cow
But her body was “WOW!”
And as goddesses go – she kicked butt

Her skin was the hue of the sky
Covered with stars floating by
Of her it was said
She protected the dead
She was one of the highest of high

But the statues of her were all hidden
And common folks looking – forbidden
Only priests got to peek
Incantations they’d speak
Wishing she could be bedridden

Mdailey	7/28/11
Placed 15th in contest...
