King Tut

Young king Tut, time honoured pharaoh In rage, deaf like the sea, with fires impatience Boy king worshipped as a God The daintiest last, to make the end most sweet. Buried with skill not food for worms But time for him grants a heavier doom

Historical writes are my favorite poems to read, Nigel, and I had the chance to see artifacts from Tut's tomb when they were shown in the US. Certainly no food available for worms in the mummification process and the last line makes a compelling statement. Enjoyed this poem very much. Best wishes, Carolyn
