Wall Street

While Wall Street takes the plunge - What next is there to come? It’s enough to make one lunge - Greed caused this mess to come Though it’s nice to have the fineries in life - Who is going to pay the price? You can’t take it with you in the afterlife - This too was the Egyptians vice They, too, accumulated wealth - Who did it serve in the end? Even though Tut lost his health - He couldn’t take it with him in the end

Thanks. What kills me are the children that are going to inherit this mess. It's also a shame to think that people who once had a livelihood are now homeless and worried about feeding their kids. Caroline

Caroline, how true that greed led to the stock market chaos. Like the way you made reference to King Tut being unable to take his wealth with him. This is my kind of poem - Great work! And thanks for your thoughts on "Hungry and Homeless Americans." Love, Carolyn
