Alfred, Lord Tennyson,
When all was certainly said and done,
Wrote “Better to have loved and lost…,”
Perhaps that was the bar he crossed.

Grim Tim
Timmy was tinkering with a little lock,
When he was spotted by a passing cop,
A judge sent him to jail
         And now without fail
He spends each day breaking up rock....

We would like to
eat steaks in Alaska
or fry battered mushrooms,
but the there is money
to be made
in the Southland.
The irises bloom here thickly,
and roses bleed,
while tinkering hands
use up the day....

Premium Member Water Flows
Tinkering over the pebbles
flowing freely onwards
smoothly
leaving in its wake soft ripples
as it travels homewards
blithely.

Stranded In the Aftermath
Young & naive
Lingering in the aftermath
Feeling bereaved
And somewhat cold

Wishing I could forget
Needing to start again
Take away the regret
Before I begin

Tinkering in the shower
Washing every imperfection
Every flower
Until I find satisfaction....

Nature Is Tinkering
Nature is tinkering
And timber
Leaning on the rope
To the law of gravity
While breaking branches
Sharpen the storylines
I am using this saw
To divide infinite numbers
So that my suede shoes
Are merely muddy moccasins
So, the sticks are stacked
And she’s dragging her own limbs
To the heaving heap...

The Gift That I Give You Inspiration
The gift that I give you
is delicate and fine,
Miniature though marvellous
tinkering in time...

For you to dance,
For you to sing...

-Magic interlocks-

To surprise for ears and eyes
Wee little music box.

Remember if you're ever sad
Wind it up with care,
Enjoy the tune of sun and moon
With your teddy bear....

Premium Member The Inkling
I have an inkling
My writing is winking
At me behind my back
Or maybe its just blinking,
Mindlessly thinking
While wrinkling up
My tiny universe
By tinkering
And intermingling
The real and the false~
I hear a clinking,
A chilling kind of whistling;
What is that stinking prickling
I can feel bristling
Up and down my spine?

Sculpting human: Tinkering out-loud
  ( The precursor . . . )

Who you are and what you are is your personal dream. It is only when you speak it into the stream of the world that you can claim to be a member of A Living Society.

It's your obligation to do so and the only way that others like yourself (your real family) are gathered together into collective efforts - to make the world new again.

Treachery of Moonlight
starlight has kept silent
the treachery of moonlight
why again shadows disappear
for darkness has arrived

silhouettes dance in an effort to harmonise
twilight spins; the intricate webs of the dreams;
 as it conspires  with universal laws;
tinkering nightly with this game of life

whilst shadows stalk pervassivley
waiting in delight
please hasten tranquil morning light
spare me the pain
should icycles formulate overnight...

Premium Member My Two Miracles
Two of my clocks had stubbornly stopped,
My son had worked on them for years.
They didn't respond to his tinkering
He said they had worn out gears.

Sometime after God had taken him,
I walked by the cuckoo clock.
I impulsively swung the pendulum
And was startled by a strong tick-tock.

I was so surprised, I said aloud,
"I know you have fixed it Son,
Now just to please your mother
Would you start the other one? (And he did)

Won 2nd place...

Changing Time
The clocks go forward
Our clocks are then put back
I was under the illusion that time
Was physics domain or remit
So why are we allowed tinkering with it
Is it broken and who are we to fix it
365 Day's
4 Season's
12 Month's
As the American's say
Do the Math
It all adds up
So why defy
What is the reason
For changing time
Twice a year
One hour forward
One hour back
Dark winter's
Light summer's
Something's never needed changing...

Writer's Dream
Ink to the page; it's a marvellous thing,
Like rainbows and chocolate and tinkering.
When my pen hits the page my soul is flowing,
With ideas to keep the universe going.

I love it, it's true!
So old, yet so new.
My mind is an author,
No one ever knew.

If you were to ask me;
"What do you want to be?'
It is obvious, wondrous, as you can see.

Ink to the page; it's a marvellous thing,
Like rainbows and chocolate and tinkering.

Premium Member Vagabond Romance
romance of a Roma waggon
tinkering around the world
dreams of blissful freedom
no possessions nothing to lose
bells and whistles violin music
horses with intricate saddles
gallivanting on free reins
crackling camp fires

before you unsettle
look around you
scapegoating and othering
xenophobic attacks
even a tramp under a bridge
has less ill repute
at least a German born hobo

last caveat
visit the museum
at Auschwitz Birkenau

Spontaneity
Simplicity reigns in spontaneity...
And simplicity is beauty...
So let the words flow on their own....
Without distorting or tinkering in their zone...!

A thousand efforts may enthrall....
But those can never be natural....
A real rose is always unique....
Than the expensive ones made of plastic...!

Simplicity submerged in spontaneity...
Unadulterated....unmisted....lucid beauty....
Where words dropped don't drip back again...
& the beauty in it does never wane....!...
