What's Your Poison?
an acrid swill of wolf's bane
vigorously stirred into tepid lime sweet tea...
tearfully in black stands me.....

Rain Cry
Rain cry
From the sky
Tearfully
To the ground
From above
So high
Crying thunder
Drips run down
One after the other...

A boy can't drive endlessly forever. Going home is justified.
Knocking loudly makes nice old Pop quickly respond,
Smiling tearfully, "Uncle Victor's wild xerus yanked zinnias".

O Winter Sun
Drag you along, tearfully
With unending doubt
Twill dry, each print, as the last
Day-stepping, wetted.

O Winter sun! For your mood
No high leapt greetings
Attractive-faced, brushed on past.
Nor those, stem-lifted!...

“How deep is your love, for me?”

Tearfully,

You asked me, my darling.

“An ocean,

as deep as my love for you, is yet

to be found!”

Was my reply!

At His Own Game
Fabric torn, worn and frayed- The owner of this garment tearfully prayed. Not for better clothes to wear- Rather to take away the sins we share. By dying upon a cross of guilt and shame- Jesus beat the devil at his own game.

Afresh
Afresh my motion has to begin.
Again my wings of toil have to flap;
A tinker's task to reshape my heart benign
To quench the gaping chasm and fill the gap;
To let anew my ambitions roam,
And dreams to seep and pervade
To the limitless shores of heaven and home,
Until the farewell is tearfully bade....

This House
Clouds are weeping at my door
Puddles tearfully trickle in
Moonlight falls, whisper thin

Shingles chatter on the roof
Winter sends her lonely kiss
Restless winds, a soulful hiss

Tousled twigs caress the windows
Shattered leaves sorrow down
Willows writhe, orchids frown

Shutters sigh outside these walls
Thunder moans in evening gloom
Wilted love, she cannot bloom...

Silver Droplet
That silver droplet streaking down
Is it really because of me?
That shiny, salty sign of distress
Is it only I that can see?

A single eye is visible to mine
It's blurry and blue and blind
I'm scared to confront the sadness
I so tearfully left behind

And now the question is in the air-
Are my thoughts and actions true?
I'm scared to look you in the eye
Because I'm still in love with you...

Carefree Heart
With reckless abandon, I tearfully love
Nearby the carefree heart is laid
Lashes of eyes so greatly beloved
With reckless abandon, I tearfully love
Passion ensued in wishes above
Quietly grinned a serenade
With reckless abandon, I tearfully love
Nearby the carefree heart is laid

My song is sad and badly sung
It catches in my throat and dies
No matter what the day decries
The bells of truth are sadly rung

To cry for a heart that doesn't care
Futile is the life that lives in vain
Crying with such delicious pain
Lest you keep love alive, beware

Tomorrow dawns as I know it will
Still , hope raises its determined head
And after all is done and tearfully said
My God, forgive me..I love you still.....

Memories Mirrored
                  by Odin Roark

A Boy Scout essential
The polished metal card mirror
The unbreakable monitor
Made to master Morse code
Used to measure wanna-be whiskers
And such

So it went
From puberty to manhood
Hall locker
To gym locker
Toiletry bag
To duffel bag
Afghan's mountain-dead
To triage hospital bed

Wrapped eyes needed little
Of the metal card mirror now
As blindness tearfully engaged
The enslavement of memory...

Missing Her
Missing her As the lonely morn shimmers in ribbons dancing along distant vistas where blushing cloud formations float on breathless breezes and sunrise dreams My thoughts wander through the long shadows forming of maple tree embraces, when again the silent dawn finds we are apart And my heartbeat echoes upon a sighing horizon, illuminating pastel sorrows, tearfully greeting another day of missing her

We Have Always Lived In a Snow Globe
we have always lived in a snow globe
under the little glass dome
with all our misfortunes and all our hopes
in a perfect windowsill home
but then you suddenly turned black and white
just like a Man Ray’s picture
and that kind of gave me a fright
when you tried to step out of that picture
but it all makes sense now, my sweet
in our snowy town of fools
that you keep haunting me in my sleep
and I can’t escape and it’s still
tearfully beautiful...

Mama Philo
Mama philo

It was a sole group
Devoid of the arts and signs
Of communal frenzy
A blazing flame
Without a raging crowd
A lone pail
clanging a soulless beat
Amidst the sorrowful fest
Clinging and hugging
With boneless shoulders
Blinking tearfully
Wiping rubbing hopelessly
Muting her wish/
To calm this impasse
As she drift into bliss
Waking up with a shudder
As she makes a recollect
Why she now lay
face to face with mama philo....

Praying
I'm holding on tightly
To these broken vows
Holding on closely
To these unfaithful souls
I'm holding on tearfully
To these painful memories

I stood tall for you all
I vowed to never bleed in hate
Stood tall thanks to love
I vowed to never fall into darkness
I stood tall for myself

I'm on my knees now
Praying to a god that doesn't exist
On my knees weeping
Praying for an end to come
I'm on my knees bleeding
Praying for this pain to burn away...

Will I Know When the Music Ends
Will I Know When the Music Ends?

Sometimes “together” runs its course,
A warm hand held turns cold or then,
He works late most every night;
His face is not bright as once it had been.
He stops saying “No” to a pretty purchase,
And instead doesn’t care or when.
He ”reads” his phone way past ten
When your own eyes are closed again;
“Tomorrow I’ll bake him his special pie!”
Tearfully, you try, you cry and with a last sigh,
“Make me sure when the music ends.”...

Winter End
This season spoils with orchestral splendor
A cloud beams in irrepresible render
Spreading opulently past the stars
And raindrops fall from the sky jars

A crying ladybird groans tearfully
Quailing with blackened fury
And hoping determinedly in delightful twists
As winter-end cavorts playfully in chilly mists

At the point, when the cool is gone, evermore
And skies do not dim anymore
Awaken me with the cries of feathered friends
When the warm twist blows toward me ascends...

I Dreamt
I dreamt of you, held you
as I never would in my waking hours.
A sweet tender moment, silently,
we sat together in peaceful calm.
I knew it was not true reality,
and I knew in any moment, you would fade,
but still, I clung to you, to us,
and hoped against all that you would stay.
But as you leaned in to speak,
I knew I was waking, so I smiled,
and took in the moment quickly,
to be comforted on a rainy day.
Then, tearfully, I let go, and my heart
remained with you in the world of dreams....

Lost Childhood
As he looks out the window, he tearfully longs to play
Before he got hurt on that very fateful day
his legs now hang useless in his wheelchair taking his childhood
being taunted and teased by every friend he had in his neigborhood
he can hear them making fun of him, there is nothing he can do
but sit and blissfully remember at the things he used to do
before that drunk driver hit him head on that very fateful day
How sad to think that the one who hit him can gleefully walk away....
