South Carolina Sun
Palm trees fingers stretch in the sweltering breeze,
bending over graciously,
It shelters Mr. Bluejays retreat,
Above, clouding blue skies prepare to shower,
No movement in this afternoon sauna,
Life must wait for South Carolina sun to settle....

LOW COUNTRY BOIL SOUTH CAROLINA STYLE

Potatoes, corn, onions, sausage, shrimp, and crabs
Boiled together to perfection
Old newspapers laid on the table
All ingredients dumped together
Careful, it's hot
YUM!!

Went To Meander
Went To Meander

Marjory Wentworth went to meander;
Took a gander and had to hand her
My poems that with me I did tote
Then she grabbed me by my throat;
No more of my poems can she endure.

James Horn

Marjory Wentworth is Poet Laureate
of South Carolina where poems are
always finer so she said....

Premium Member South Carolina Trees
These strong old South Carolina trees
have now become my canopies.
God bless these South Carolina trees
that swung black bodies in the breeze.

They sway for peace and harmonies
from the ancient southern wrong in these,
that brings their grandness to bowed knees asking in prayer,
“Forgive us please.”...

Premium Member We Shouldn't Take Other's Humanity
In South Carolina, walking to his car outside of
Brew's Bar peacefully,
twenty year old Sean William Kennedy,
was punched in the face and died that day,
simply because he was gay.

Us members of such a cruel human race,
shouldn't take other's humanity-
The LGBTQ community has a right
to shared space. ~...

Tyrannoseanus Wrecks
Old uncle Tee Rex was a bore .

He could burp a huge belch and then snore .

When he dumped his wife , Dyna

 From South Carolina

It sure made my aunt Dyna sore .

Past Is Permanent and Present Subject To Change
Past Permanent and Present Subject to Change

past is permanent
while future will soon be here
now live in present

Present is only tense
which we can live in.

Jim Horn

This is my 8,000th poem.
I have dedicated it to
Marjory Wentworth,
Poet Laureate of
South Carolina.
Probably should have
had her edit my poem....

Who's Fooling Who
Some birdies really...

Can be so unkind

All day pecking

Only gripes and whines

It's not hot enough

So she ups and flies

Down to Miami beach via South Carolina skies

She probably thinks... Oh Lord

I’m a Dodo bird

Maybe it's a secret lover, tell me, have you heard

Whoever it is...don't say

I don't bother mind

Blue Jay’s staying over and it’s tweeting time...

Premium Member Different States In Different States
Snow flurries will be here Friday.
Forty-seven degree high today.
Midwest United States – Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri,
No biggie. We have all seen worse.

Snow blizzard on Saturday,
Coming in from the East.
North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia are shaking.
No snow shovels, or plows or drains in those states.

Florida is hiding their alligators, so they will not freeze.
Different states in different states....

Shootings In South Carolina
Another mass shooting has occurred in America. This time, it happened in Rock Hill, South Carolina. A doctor, his wife, two grandchildren, and another were killed by a gun. A former NFL player was deemed the culpable one. That player was found dead from a shot self-inflicted. This was a tragic event nobody could have predicted. How many more unfortunate victims have to die? It leaves many shaking their heads and asking why. From a news story found on aol.com
