Ski Trip

nature's backwoods,
over frozen lakefronts,
among quiet darken patches,
snowfalls

Test your skill with austere, sincere hopes;
True poise comes on premier skier slopes.

There once was a Norse goddess named Skadi
A Winter Ruler in huntress’ body
An expert at skiing
Her enemies fleeing
Ester Ledecka she did embody
our mama duck is not like the others
the other mamas glide like sailboats
she drags us around faster than a jet ski
because she is a Gemini daddy says
Each morning I jump on the wii
I run and I jog and I ski
I give it my best
then I take the test
to find there’s much more of me
Hickenlooper in a Stooper
When we saw John Hickenlooper,
Who appeared to be in a stupor;
Should see ski;
Landed on knee;
He also had been a party pooper.

How many terrified cats can a ski lift hold?
The cats were mewing so big and bold.
The lift was shaking, swaying to and fro
“Meow Meow!”, the cats cried, “don’t let go!”
Slipping, sliding,
Kicking, gliding -
Iffy my technique.
It's a snowy week.
Never skied before -
Got to do this more...!

It's boring I tell ya, this life we lead
Each day's the same, it's a break we need
Maybe climb Mt. Everest
Over 200 have perished
Naw, gonna ski-doo up, ride down on a steed
It's boring I tell ya, this life we lead
Each day's the same, it's a break we need
Maybe climb Mt. Everest
Over 200 have perished
Naw, gonna ski-doo up, ride down on a steed
It's boring I tell ya, this life we lead
Each day's the same, it's a break we need
Maybe climb Mt. Everest
Over 200 have perished
Not me, gonna ski-doo up, ride down on a steed

Calling All Non-Skiers
All my friends love to ski
so we went to this town
was the best all-around
I did wish they'd clued me.

An engraving on a stomach
a doctor carves up a picture
on a stomach
it is his block by stone
in the light from a surgery
this engraving in the skin
is his masterpiece
and looks like one ski trail
over the stomach
We’ll play,
We’ll sway
Like sunrise at the California bay.
We’ll ski
We’ll skate
I’ll fix the roller skates.
We’ll ride,
We’ll jog
We’ll watch the moonlight come.
We’ll study
We’ll learn the alphabet…
If only you stay.
Granny jumps on the jet ski and glides
over the bumpy waves she does ride
she heads toward flat ground
as her flab flops around
the poor old granny has lost her pride.

Showering new flakes over the land
Now opening sites of white blankets
Over wide lands and valleys to ski
Winter’s snow is ever falling for me
Dedicated to the memory of my poet friend Ralph Zimmer who was a member of
this site.

One day, jogging in snow, Jack met Jill
on his third try, he's almost up hill.
This girl learning to ski
rolled her foot, hit his knee
down they go, Jack 'n Jill, what a thrill!

Slippery hills in this snowy week
Knees bent; more speed needs a tweak.
I’ll snowplow, turn skis stop in stance
In and out like an ice-ballet dance,
No turning back on a bunny slope!
Gripping tightly up-hill to the tow rope.
In the remnants of the Soup, I discovered a spritE
A gem of a poetic rhymeR

word-ski : a newborn ;)
The state of flow, eternal Tao
Dance in the ephemeral now
A Bound mind will not allow
A Joyous downward plow
Soft snow, honored thou
Its own meaning endow
Feet atop sacred bough
Snow cut by skis’ prow
Let me show you how
