Dark Hours

Shrivelled day,
Mottled charred desires,
Still pursuits,
Dying hope,
Shadowed duty engagement,
We fall and rise still.

The flowers have died

The flowers died on Monday,
The ones that lay next to her bed

They pulled the plug on Monday,
The roses shrivelled up and dead.

An Unearthly Howl

Listen to this my friends, while out on the prowl As a pup of fourteen, saw two yummy nipples to chow My loins shrivelled up Was a thirsty young pup Then tried a region below, next came an unearthly howl!

I'M Almost Dead

So thirsty am I
growing up towards the sky
my roots they are dry
shrivelled buds are almost dead
Heavy rain I drown instead

As I Was Walking In the Snow

One morning I decided to go
for a walk on the tightly packed snow
but I made a mistake
and stepped out on a lake
now my bits have all shrivelled, you know!

Tales of Infirmity

A shrivelled presence.
A mere shadow.
Curled tightly in
foetal submission
unconscious tae owr
subconscious fears.
Eyes dart back
an fourth amongst
the participants in
this ritual of ruination.
Never lingering though
fir fear of also
being snared in
the abyss's gaze.

Fade

Paint your memories on my canvas
For my time has come to fade away
The sun may no longer be as it was
For the skies will turn to gray

The rhyming voices will come calling
And the leaves will be falling
For the shades of autumn hath come to fetch
The shrivelled leaf that is wretch

As Sowed So We Reap

Like you I get old,
Like you equal water hold,
I’m like you at core,
All vegetables here sold,
It’s just that I get tired more

And so, need to sleep,
We both date with death must keep,
You shrivelled, unsold,
I hungry when and too old,
As sowed so we reap.

Ice Cream Sundae

Ice cream sundae
on our steamy honeymoon

Strawberries on top
Hell! we don’t need no spoon
Shared between our Tongues
salves those shrivelled prunes
God! she’s one sweet Dish
and it’s still only Afternoon

I scream Sunday!
on this torrid day in June

They Came To Steal Our Thoughts

they came to steal our thoughts
consciousness an ocean realm
where drops drip into us in dream and day
and they such thirst and drink do they
an empty vessel will we become
upon their syphoning, drained and gone
harvested, thy human fruit
of beautiful light, wilted, shrivelled
of profound loot, now bodied us
a living dead, left they who stole our thoughts

Two Rivers

Two Rivers

Stark naked she slowly shrivelled her exposed vacant mind

shed dry viscous tears and filled the empty river in vain

Exhausted petrified her and the stream her inner self

bared to rugged contraction with one final squeeze flooded

the truth that she floated on sediment nevertheless

Halloween

A time for werewolves, zombies, bones,
For spiders, vampires, ghosts and bats,
Blood curdling shrieks and chilling moans,
Of walking corpses, witches’ cats,
See scuttling beetles, ghouls and rats.

Old warlocks chant and banshees cry,
The carved out pumpkins light the way,
And broomsticks soar across the sky,
As shrivelled mummies flaunt decay:
It’s Halloween or All Souls’ Day.

Old Age

Old age
Threatening near
Wrinkles on forehead
Lines on corners of eye
Netted crosses on cheeks
Plumps of fat
On protruding belly
Double chins
Hanging loose
Shrivelled hands and fingers
Resemble those of a cold blooded animal
Clumsy legs
Staggering
Sinking eyes
Dimming
Exhausted brain
Confusing
A complicated world
A bleak future
For every oldie
And it comes only once

Oasis

Fertile spot on timeless sands,
Life on parched lands,
The existent surrounded by the non-existent,
The living in the shrivelled.

Jewel in the gloom,
Hope in despondency room,
The thirsty is replenished at its shore,
A memorial of nature’s benevolence.

The trees are rejuvenated from its tranquil chamber,
There’s hope after the night’s slumber,
Treasure in the arid,
Water finds a way to us.

Vision in my Slumber

Awakened from my slumber,
Gloom pervades my room,
I sojourn through a shrivelled meadow.

A sage told me to look past the crumbled meadow,
For redemption is risen from its slumber,
And light permeates its room.

As I approach redemption’s room,
I see a lush meadow,
I'm awakened from the vision in my slumber.

The night calls me from my slumber, my room is a door to the meadow.

The Sabbath

Temple in time, memorial of creation
Heaven's sign of Jehovah's awesome love
Earth's covenant of proof, divine condition

Sweet Sabbath, prophetic before the curse
Altar of peace, and worn flesh restoration
Brighten the shrivelled heart and disperse
Blessings for praise, for faith hope's exaltation
Anchor of Yahweh to the divine identity
Tenderly permit His healing of our soul
Hallelujah eternal day, passport of the fold

Unwritten Absence

We left the light,
We sojourned in the night,
We journeyed in the dark,
The night held sway.

It was so long a night,
It was so prolonged a fight,
We traversed shrivelled meadows,
Followed by our shadows.

An absence of light,
Wearied our hearts,
An unwritten absence,
Chauffeured a gloomy presence.

We saw light afar,
As we moved closer,
It dimmed and died,
Like a falling star.

Summer smashes Spring

Summer smashes into Spring with violent heat that leaves the air in a hazy daze.  All of the tender, green rain-draped brilliance of young foliage giving way to the drab, sunbaked drowsy green that swelters and gasps for rain all through Earth's yearly simmering.  Boiling and drying in invisible and malicious rays, all green tends to brown and lush tends to shrivelled.  And so shall oppressive the weight of this season be. Yet, Autumn comes.

Abandoned

They lay by the seashore,
Vessels that were once war ready,
They struck with an invincible claw,
Sailing buoyed and steady.

Its inhabitants were ruthless,
They had their chambers in hell,
They were brutal and merciless,
Everyone that challenged them fell.

Cursed by the sea,
They became a shadow,
Gloom pervaded their glee,
Their courage became a shrivelled meadow.

Their pride led to their fall,
The vessels became a sighing hall.

In Memoriam

All the fallen,
All the slain,
All taken by the night,
All gone from the light.

All the fallen,
Men of valour,
Men of honour,
Men of true colour.

All the fallen,
Warriors in the deep,
Ships lost in the sea,
Sailing in our sleep.

All the fallen,
Shrivelled meadows,
Hanging shadows,
Strangers in the underworld.

All the fallen,
All the lost stars,
All the closed blinds,
Timeless in our minds.

Mist of Mysteries

On golden sands
between the layers of
silvery stream waves
wet quill write untold tales

Incessant gush narrates
epic in shallow voice
no presence witness
prolonged tireless task

On shrivelled shores
pebbles re read stories
to share the musing
with migrating birds.

The serene script
bloating and floating
bubbling with wishes
meandering on waves.

In its obvious merge
identity gets sacrificed
while embracing
dark ocean abyss.

Twilight Chamber

The night inside me,
Anticipating heaven's light,
The gloom in my chamber,
Awaiting the sun's rise.

Treasured are the halcyon days,
Gone in a way cloaked by time,
Memorable are the bouquet days,
Shrivelled by the dark hands of time.

Struggling and creating,
All go on the dismal way,
Sculpting and moulding,
The materials are obstinate.

Twilight holds sway,
Dawn is in a deep sleep,
I'm on a journey to glory land,
Even though it’s across the seas.
