Shallow Grave
Blanketing the curse
of separation

Distance covers memory
—to sleep inside the pain

If the end of life is a shallow grave
What point is there to rant and rave

Be pleasant, friendly, of good cheer
Please God and man while you are here...

Bring Your Alibis On Board
Bring your alibis on board
Your defense is death
And your life is limber
Time terminates your time here
As the earth swallows you up
In your shallow grave
I’m digging for dirt
To place over your concocted coffin...

Ashes and Dust
Tossing a corpse
In a shallow grave
And filling it with dirt
Will take it back to dust,
Yet leave fragments behind.

Burning the dead thing
And scattering its ashes
In the wind and waves
Will remove it from the urn....

In a shallow grave
Behind a big old whitewashed house
where a tattered flag still waves
beside a small cross made with staves
and in the wood, clearly carved
with the spirit of devolution
states, "Here interned today
Lies the US Constitution "...

Mattress You Sleep On
Mattress you sleep on
is your shallow grave
you lie there for siesta
at night when you sleep
unknowingly you rehearsal
how to die the coming times
you travel to heaven daily
and hell you visit its shores
then back to your mattress
what a friendly grave it is!...

Inevitable
Death, the inevitable
a path we follow
stepped out in paces
intervals by chance
no escape, the icy tendrils.

In its wake,
swallowed by the vortex
enveloped in grief
mired to a past.

Time brings salvation,
it's healing rays
thaws the heart
from shallow grave....

Surrounded By Light
"this poem is not about what is written,
but what is not written. . . "

The priest prays for her.
She leaves the cold shallow grave
Surrounded by light,
Feelings of joy flooding her.
The murdered girl smiles - and soars.

Heart Broken
Tore my heart open too many times
Committed such love crimes
Lost my love in a cross fire
Wondering why his life had to expire
Chris was his name
Chris was the reason they called him lame
Spent his life in sorrow
Though buried in a shallow grave
Engraved in stone Christopher Monte' Rivera...

it starts as a hurt buried in a shallow grave deep within the heart where in times of pain memories resurrect it and it comes to life seeking an excuse it weaponizes contempt and unleashes that hatred on all those it blames for life's failures and downfalls oblivious as to why

Injustice Discounted
I bathe in the tears of your frailty.
Love has never seemed so distant as when two people are content with unhappiness.
Society assigns romance with an unrealistic interest rate.
A lifetime of loathing cost more than a lifetime of loneliness.
Before you deceive a woman make sure to dig a shallow grave with no tombstone....

Shallow Grave
the darkness and confusion lifts
I do not bring the rain, which you embrace
but the sun briefly, into a cold sky
as I feel my way through the fog
into the realms of your reality
I lay fantasy aside
covering it with Irish lace
and burying it in a shallow grave
as your heart's freedom sprouts wings
and flies away into the night...

Shallow Graves Miracle Man 2/4/2024 Memories, we inter in a shallow grave, are the one’s we’re better off forgetting. Perhaps we were wronged and never forgave, and time’s lateness now finds us regretting. “Peace of mind catnaps on a bed of feathers, while anxiety lies tense on ticking filled with straw.” Tom

With Fiends Like This
All my friends have turned to fiends
Disturbed fits them to a tee
hee became a chuckle insidious
Trust in shallow grave
hastily buried
Face down in case it tries to resurface
Every helping hand loped
----------------------------------- o
----------------------------------- -ff
Every gift been stolen
Pity been spat in my face
Walked through over and passed
alone i think i will last...

Chyngaws Adwaith
action is intrinsic in one,
from only one it is endowed,
to the many this truth is blind,
creating only pretense,
this is not rebellion or revolution,
this is reassertion,
this is the cutting of supply lines,
to vaccines poison penned,
and venomously laid plans,
in this earth already scorched,
all out war is upon us,
forces the hand of all,
indecision is its own decision,
neutral as a shallow grave...

The Death
The Death
I would not like to die in winter
When earth is frozen and will not take a spade
They will dig a shallow grave
Bury me in a coffin without a blanket
Then go inside and sit by the fire
Perhaps they will wrap me in canvas put me on
The hey-loft till spring
And collect my old age pension during the cold season
I don`t mind that
Soft soil and flowers on the ground
Dig deep, and I will be a part of spring...

No Tears Will Come
No tears will come
Struggling
I pray death will send it's angels to my door
Life has no meaning without love
Living with a broken soul is a sin
Hell on earth ,the blazing fire burning my flesh
No tears will come
Death can take my soul
No life within, life without love
Hope has no voice to sing
Emptiness is a death sentence
I am in a shallow grave
No tears will come
Take the air from me and give me peace...

Sudden Death
My future is right before me,
but my past refuses to rest in its shallow grave,
the grave I dug trying to be brave,
trying to show life that I can move on,
and yes, on I moved,
but my past deep enough I didn't move,
now it killed my future,
it died a sudden death,
because I refused to take heed,
when it was all before me to read,
that nature cannot be tamed,
just as old habits cannot be chained,
but deserve only to be killed....

My Expiration 2k11
Mine eyes shall come benighted - Sunshine gone; Winded upon final stretch of marathone. Whilom self - A Brother - Cousin - Friend, Writer - Son; An earthly throb dealt its end. Fated finish line - Spirit delighted; Many questions answered when enlighted. O blues come - weep not at a shallow grave, As I'll be heart bound yet - Not in such grave. 'Twas a soul exhausted and it called home; 'Tis that same presence in such a poem.

Grave, Indeed
Eyes have now adjusted
Hands are now in view
The air is dry and falling short
I’m thinking now of you

The immediate world is stifling
But you can set me free
Come seek, my love, find me here
Please come now and save me

Oh, bring me from this darkness
The air it now draws thin
My love, I’m still waiting here
A shallow grave I’m in

Like being buried, yet alive,
Are feelings I’ll know best
Until you come to save me, dear
Until love manifests...

Strife
Today is the first day of the rest of my life,
until now I've survived by strife,
I've battled my fair share of demons and suffered their wrath,
took a mighty hard fall and couldn't make it back
false pride kept me spiralling and spiralling down
I wallowed in self pity when I finally hit the ground
with the realisation, I was to blame
I dug myself a hole to hide in shame
guilt kept me dormant in my shallow grave
my pathetic existence is not worthy to save....

Incomplete Sights of Color
Arrows the thorn.
Break the spoon.
Morning your coffee.
Drink wine.
Design crime.
Hearts sun a blur.

Webs of dance.
Out of focus.
Eyes wide open.
Dead from the shallow grave.

Reborn God's years.
Fresh breath saved.
The end.
When?
Does shoes walk alone
no feet to guide and lead
you home.

Moon sky gray from nature's rain.
Belly sweet laughter embraced
the cloud.
Black sun tickled the earth's
pain.
Sunlight faced a reflection
from the past.
Burned incomplete....

The hands of time can't be reversed
For hourglass' sand must flow each day.
When life isn't found as intellect rehearsed
The sand doesn't slow nor does it stay.

As a respecter of persons time is not deft
So relish each moment as you travel.
Seeking the max from time you've left
For comes a day when life will unravel.

I sit forlorn delving on things withheld
Excavating resentment from a shallow grave.
Toward one whose thoughts could not meld
But death will someday end that crave....
