Summertime
A posy for me,
And a posy for you,
O’Summer speaks,
And swinging tunes,
Swing me to you.

Poor Scarlett O'Hara had gas.
Her Ashley would not make a pass.
She went home to Tara,
did Scarlett O'Hara
and shoved a corn cob in her--uh--ear!...

Twiddling Troubles
Tweedle me,
Tweedle thee,
I glee with roses,
And I’m all rosy,
As can be,
That all my troubles,
Are swept away,
Twiddling! Twiddling!

In Dreams of You.
Night.......

scarlett lips blurring,

my phantom fades.

lucid eyelids

fluttering,

suffusing,

suspending,

breaking blueness

unfolds your shape,

drawing your soft image

upon

my

loving

mind....

Scarlett's Lament
Scarlett's Lament

Fiddlede-diddlede
Scarlett O'Hara, she
slew all the fellas--not
lifting a hand
'Cepting Rhett Butler proved
Incomprehensible
with, "Frankly, my dear, I
don't give a damn!"

Empty Bottle
Taking me down
To the fields of green
Along the brightest star
I've ever seen
Wait by the water
Till it hits the shore
To find an empty bottle
Nothing more

Premium Member A Limerick For Lara
[Dedicated to my niece, Lara.]

There was a young lady called Lara
She dreamt of adventure at Tara
Then one day right at dawn
With the wind she was gone
To double for Scarlett O’Hara.

Premium Member Feelings About Gone With the Wind
Weird we could not find one American to play Scarlett O’Hara.
I was irritated until I saw Vivien Leigh’s eyes,
reminding me of Elizabeth Taylor.
How many are half as beautiful? Rhett Brother is not so very handsome,
But his devilish manner and his suave manners make up for that....

Premium Member Scarlett Revisited
One night when stars possessed the universe,
plantation winds screamed violently;
Cupid's wings thrashed against a pane.
When the arrow pierced her chest,
her winter's heart too late
was made to know pure
love. . . Fever came,
and still she
cannot
rest.

To My First, Love You Stained Me Scarlett
It's kind of romantic
how I can guide
you with my touch
alone, the way your
fingers twitch slightly when
I tap you gently.

My first marvellous creation.
It took me hours
to take you apart
and weld back together.
I am forever grateful
that you're the one.

Or I was, until
I saw my next victim....

Scarlett, Rhett, Tara
“Fiddle-dee-dee War War War”
~ ‘I don’t give a whoop’

Poet’s note: Okay, okay, you’re right! Rhett Butler didn’t give a “whoop” in the most famous line of Gone With the Wind. If the film censors had their way, it may have ended with a “whoop.” But they didn’t and the rest is history.

''The Hum of Betrayal''
~An erosion of senceless sin.
Prolonged only by your avid absent conscience.
~Reality blurs no more.~
I fear trust will lye behind these electric fences that divide us.
Like Scarlett fever, the plagued dishonesty fills only views of deception.
If only my ache for you would fade.
Still as stone, the filth consumes you whole.
Trapped to the hum of betrayal.~...

Come To Bed
I'm sitting here beneath the lamp.
My wife is begging me to camp.
"Come lay beside me in the bed
And we will cover up our heads.
To have a nice and peaceful dream.
We'll have to turn down this lamp's beam.
     "Tomorrow is another day"
I just heard my beautiful Scarlett say.
If you will down beside me lay,
we'll cuddle and hug 'til break of day!...

One
The Life I've changed is that of ONE
Yet many lives remain undone
ONE seed I plant on present plain
That future tears shall surely wane

Scarlett thread spun strong yet sheer
A world away from there to here
Innocent life clad in jade
No better cull could I have made

ONE fire kindled on dampened soil
Spite many sparks light be foiled
Present darkness overcome
Rising flame of that of ONE...

Scarlett
Tara must have pulled the ground up
Over her head, you made us all
See nothing but red

Incessant bawlin', rebel drawlin'
Rhett! Rhett! Rhett!
T'was not those phony charms
That drove him from your arms

A petite, whining Southern Belle
From Hell, couldn't see the
Georgia forest in those trees

Face it now, Rhett is gone
Along with the wind, you've sung your last song
Frankly Scarlett, the boy is movin' on...
