Notes About The Poem

A Limerick For Lara

[Dedicated to my niece, Lara.]

There was a young lady called Lara
She dreamt of adventure at Tara
Then one day right at dawn
With the wind she was gone
To double for Scarlett O’Hara.

Ohh this is so adorable Paul :) Your niece must have loved it! I love 'Gone With The Wind'. I've seen the movie several times and I've read the book - I never wanted the story to end.. A fun and lovely limerick my witty friend :) Warmest wishes.. ~Susan

Oh how I love this limerick, especially as Gone with the Wind was one of my favorite movies. Another was Dr. Zhivago, love the old classics, and named my daughter Lara. I will show her this limerick of yours. Thanks for sharing.

This is excellent in form, delivery and content. The playful manipulation of words is witty and clever, I'm sure Lara must have been wearing a smile after reading this. Emile.
