There once was a girl named Dana
Who wasn't from old Savannah
She'd lived in Texas
Till she and her nexus
Moved east to Louisiana
Sun Conures
Brazilian blue bliss
from hot savannah rise these
squealing screechers then
land so near me peering through
whited eye rings warily.
There was young lady named Hannah,
Courted by beaus from Savannah,
As a real good Southern girl
Didn't surrender her pearl
Even when groped on the veranda.
Trump focuses on his banana
So what could he do but dump Anna?
Eight months or seven weeks
Required Trump's special tweaks
So he could blame folk in Savannah!
LOVE
Listen to your heartstrings
Openly singing
Visualize the pleasure it brings
Evermore bringing

We are now swimming up the Boteti River, we twenty-three
To get to grasslands and savannah woodlands, you see
swimming is fun, sang the zebras, and the eating is free
On the Savannah, animals co-exist
Why can't we, what did we miss
Part of our brain
Missed the last train
Twas the last train to Memhis sealed with a kiss
Dreams
Growing
Hope gardens
Future sprouting

Dedicated to my art students.....
I once met a sweet gal from Savannah
She loved the size of my red bandana
She put it around her neck;
Twice, I was a total wreck,
She told me her name was Mrs. Suzanna.

Pen a Pensee Contest
Sweet sugar cane,
So sweet and juicy
Well, it just makes
Your mouth,
So watery, inside
Harvest bounty from
The Savannah fields
Sweet sap running
Down their long
Slender green spines
Savannah Anna banana fofana...
Why couldn't I be called Sue.
At least my name isn't Lilly, silly nilly willy Lilly.
But I am happy that I am a girl because who wants to be called Dick.
were so funny
we look like bunnies
we went to the store but had no money
went for a jog but ended up running
for breakfast we eat our eggs side up sunny
embree looked at savannah and said hey hunny
Form:
Africa, beautiful continent
Dreamy echoes fascinate
Giraffes heighten inclines
Jurassic known linger
Madagascar nestles offshore
Primates quest reform
Savannah tribes umbilical
Visioned waves x-ray
Young zebra
That sassy young lassie from Savannah
She wound up in Cuba's old Havana
Playing fine flamenco guitars
Rolling pricey high-class cigars
And shacking with men in her cabana.

Sleek beauty
Silently bounding
On velvet padded paws
Gold against the setting sun
In a shimmer of heat
A jeep out of nowhere
Men with rifles
Take aim in the haze
There lies the lifeless body
Of Queen of the Savannah
Among the tombstones -
Before I join the departed -
Calming breezes blow through ancient oaks.
Dew drips quietly from hanging Spanish Moss.
Eternity speaks,"Welcome - I will wait".

For contest ABC poem for Sara Kendrick
Leo living large
Lion lying in his lair
Big belly bloated
Zebra and Zebu
Warily watching, worried
Ready to run
Fatigued full feline
Snoozes in the savannah
Animals amble

Summer in Savannah
Holds on to languid days for dear life
She refuses to fade quietly into the dark and cold
And lights up autumn days with the warm
Clinging embrace of an old lover
Who knows breaking up is the right thing to do
But won’t.
When you hear the noisy
of weaverbirds in savannah
and
forests,
you just smile the whole day.
When you look up
and
see how they built
their nests
on the long trees,
Oh! You get astonished by
their architectural instincts.

Here's a puzzle, what's black, red, black, red, black, red?
This one's a challenge, is it several pieces of jam and toasted bread?
No points did you earn
'Twas a zebra with a sunburn
Rolling on the savannah, trying to get relief before bed!
The king surveys his savannah
Confident in his strength
To rule, to lead, to breed
To take what he wants when he wants
His women
His food
No young blood
Dares to challenge

Hello Indiana
You beautiful like Ariana
Do you smoke Marijuana
It feels nice like you in Havana
Could we be like Dolce and Gabbana
Imma turn you into a star like Tatiana
Take you for a trip in the Savannah
I go make your dreams come true like Hallelujah
