Tap That Rig

i used too
much baby
oil with the
lights turned
low but soft
music can
be heard as
Paul Simon
sings slip
sliding
away

Always a Loser

I blew a dollar on a ticket,
But I allowed machine to pick it.
I think it a sin
That I didn't win.
I wonder if machine would rig it.

Defiant Grover

Grover Deaver drove his diesel down to Dover--
Down to Dover in the state of Delaware.
I told Grover that his rig was overloaded,
But Grover Deaver said he didn't care.

Did Dig and Dig

Did Dig and Dig

The more the news would dig and dig
What Republicans did was rig, rig, rig;
Things conceal;
A rigged deal;
Until it finally had become big, big, big.

Brody and Quint

This old sea-rig is swamped and don't float
I TOLD you we'd need a bigger boat!
Now you are HIS prize
Sure ain't no surprise
That you're fish-food, you hard-headed goat!

Tension

Too much tension on a wire
Will cause it to snap,
Too much tension in the brain
Makes for mean collapses,
Be sure to rig with a swag
And protect your synapses.

Country

Country

Called American folk,
country music’s genre
caters to tough big-rig
cross-country truck drivers,
cowboy wannabees and
crooners; the blue-collar
corners of the country.

I Am One, I Am None

Written February 3, 2016

Hello World
Return takes flight
Past and present black and white
Surely losing all my sight
Numbers dancing in bright light
Calculating bits and bytes
Slowly painting left to rig

Rudder Chaos

Rig, up-draped, driven eerily… Riveted, clouds hold, ashen orb staring… Ghostly galleon gallivants ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Loading Door Number 1

A truck driver passes through
a hole in the sky

His rig self inclusive,
his load staying dry

Eighteen wheels of redemption,
the manifest signed

Delivery as promised
—his docking sublime

Winter Wonderland Reception

A couple got married in the Winter Wonderland
For the reception they hired a mariachi band
They danced a Spanish jig,
Then left in a borrowed rig
Stiffing the poor caterer because the food was bland.

Santa's Retirement

There was a guy named Jake , from Atlanta
In the Winter season he would play Santa
                    But he left that gig
                     To buy a big rig
Next he wed a sweet lady named Anna

Alabama Nights April 27, 2011

Can’t believe these eyes
And what they see
As only blackouts survive
Driving my rig into the northern Alabama night
A twisting hand reaching out of the demon skies
And ripping out the heart
And giving back ruined lives
(I know, I was there)

Funky Monkey

There is a monkey who is very funky. He dances all day long to a long song, and a big wig that can zag and zig. Once he even danced with a big pig with a rig! When the day is over, he goes to bed with a mug on his head. Aunika Alch Age 11

Help Needed Desperately

I have a great need for help
I overran the bath again last night
While I was sleeping.
I'm so afraid my parents are
going to tell me I have to move
to Assisted Living.
Can you tell me how,
Please tell me how
To rig a float to sound an alarm
when the water reaches it.

Time Spent On Rhyme

With all the time I spend on rhyme
    in vain pursuit of beauty
I neglect to help my fellow man
    and fail my forsworn duty

So this vow I make right now
Do not think I take it lightly ~
to rig up my toilet to fertilize my lawn
and flush it day and nightly

I'Ve Got a Big Butt and I Cannot Lie

My butt is just so damn big
10 Irish men could do a jig
5 truckers could park their rig
16 Miners could plan a dig
9 drummers could perform a gig
2 Elephants could take a swig
22 college kids could do their trig
If only I’d eat less like a pig!

Swinging Away In the Sun

A tire swing
A water hole
A hound named Blue

A summer day
Throw off the shirt
Kick off each shoe

I am eight
The perfect age
To rig up my own tire swing

But Uncle Pete
Came down to help
And here I be

A grateful boy
Swinging away in the sun
Nothing ever again has been this kind of fun!

Thirty Knots an Hour

His very bones smell of ocean
            beard lashed with its salt
         On land, rubber legs awkward
             he gapes and he gawks

But rig him up a mast
billowy sails to go with it
         Prow boldly juts forward ~
Thirty knots an hour, his ticket

Apocalypse

At the apex of the hellstorm Came Salvation in maidenform Cold silence emanating from her lips Her method of talk strapped around her hips A tie-down, two-holster, two-gun rig That legend called th— “The Apocalypse.” The masses interrupted in a whisper Again the masses whispered “The Apocalypse.”

i hope one day i get the opportunity to flee on horseback

i ordered at the bar in archbishop's rig

two pork sausages
baked beans
strawberry bear fruit snack
orange juice
meat free burger
r white's raspberry lemonade
bangers and mash
pepsi
corn wheels
hotdog
peppercorn sauce
one wobbly sausage sandwich

on returning to my table
i overheard the barman
'a fool he was, a fool he'll always be'.

Nocturnal Rig

starkness invading, picture windows view
the wake of an invisible house through
the maze of forest oaks becoming blue.
seizure of sure Winter eyes, long night’s coup.

of red foxes, no sightings but a twig
snapping, turns chilly heads, as moonlight wigs
out at the littered floor, nocturnal rig —
cacophony of coyotes, the dig.

People

Everyone these days? So sexual
Ever stop for a day and think? Be an intellectual?
People need to quit bein cuddy buddys
Thats why your relationships sink like its muddy
Enough bars to climb over the stars
Enough curses to ride to hell in my car
Hopefully one day i'll eventually make it big
People need to stop pulling my heart like a rig
People will never understand or realize
What i can see and tell with my real eyes

Grasp

I paused, the moonlight to inhale
As I put my steep climb on hold
Thick grape vines held tight in my grasp.
On I climbed to clutch a buttress
My breath reduced unto a gasp.
On I clambered higher to clasp
The dark hued castle tower cap
I donned my rig to glide away
And soar over broad moonlit vale.
