The candle shines and flickers
My muse has not burnt out
Dancing with the flames, words spout
Landing on the page like stickers

Peace swirls in clouds of fun
Yet, I have so much to say
Maybe another day
For now, my soul has won

Fabulous paintings on rag mats
Gorgeous under the glazing glass
Resembles my granny's noodles
But not are they silly doodles
Vibrant hues of varied patches
Divine hand's magical scratches
The whole caboodle looks graceful
Makes the innocent hearts joyful!

Rose
ROSE

Here I am at break of dawn
Just me, my rod and my friend fawn
who stares at me as he did before
he knows I’ll leave with just my lore
I lost my Rose a year ago
and spend my thoughts in deep compose
dispensing with my time of woes
and time is wilting like a rose

Nothing Lasts For Ever
The yellow and blue sky
The grass where we lie

The black and blue pencil
The pomegranates that we steal

The crimson tongue of fire
The snake in lyric lyre

The beggar boy and girl
In their union a swirl

Let them have their share
Of pleasure - nothing lasts forever

Nothing Lasts Forever
Someone mentioned in a letter
Your best is getting better
Their unfettered glee and hope
Was seen through the envelope

"I guess you know now
There is always a 'somehow'
We're endowed with great ability,
The greatest shown in humility"

Nothing lasts, but exceptions exist
I only ask "Forever persist."

May our sweet friendship never end.

Captain wiggles can’t sit still.
He wiggles and giggles on top of the hill.
He jumps around, always acting silly.
Even on days when it feels quite chilly.

Captain wiggles loves to Have fun.
He laughs and dances while on the run.
On the playground or picnicking in the park.
He giggles all day and long after dark.

All my life, it seems

although I had my dreams,

I had no standout wish -

something absolutely necessary to accomplish.

The goals of my life

were ordinary: be a wife;

have children; now, write poetry!

With nothing grand to be,

I choose life’s paths aimlessly,

floating as if to sea!

A Weeping Willow Mourns
Bended limbs in sadness bowed

What burden do you bear,

Weeping willow, weep with me

For one no longer there.

Here beneath your shading boughs

Tears course down my cheek,

For a life without her

Is no life I seek.

So come weeping willow mourn,

For a heart, now incomplete.

Our Doodles is a silly hound,
who if he hears a laughing sound,
in circles will go round and round!
His weird behavior can confound.

One time we put food on the ground;
he sniffed and he sniffed all around.
That dog food STILL he never found.
Then at the lake he nearly drowned.

We can't return him to the pound.
"One Dumb Dog" our Doodles is crowned.

Poetry can Flow
Poetry can be simple prose,
  Or rhyming lines.

  Poetry can convey a message
     …in brief,
  Or emote a feeling
  During a time of need.

  Socializing is innate.
  We need to communicate,
    to vent our thoughts,
    free our mind,
    let out our fears,
    just unwind,
    and feel heard,
    even if
     …’twas only the paper’s ears.

Be free, let yourself wander.
  Only the paper can hear.

Listen my dulcet song, my sweet.
All the angels have come to greet,
So that you'll have a peaceful sleep,
No ugly dreams will make you creep.
Look, lambs frolic in the meadow,
The moon shines without a shadow.
Still do you hear the angels sing?
The best covers you with its wing.
There now your cute eyes close to rest
Angels depart, all for the best.

My baby blue, why do you keep on crying,
All dressed up, satin ribbon in your hair?
The sun is up and red birdies are flying,
And a fluffy bunny is on the porch stair.

There are colorful toys, filled with joys,
Our frisky kitty is waiting eagerly to play,
And laughter is, after all, the best noise,
So let your pretty smile chase blues away!
