Congratulations on your win, Jan, you made me smile with this little verse! Singing nursery rhymes and songs to children as young as babies can help develop their language and communication skills from an early age. Wail the snail! Loved your poem, but we must discourage children from making friends with snails, especially now that the family dog can bring rat lungworm disease into the family home! Aloha! Rico

I actually tried to keep a snail as a pet when I was a kid - of course my parents wouldn't let me! Very fun and unusual~

Hi Jan, You have penned such a well-written “ nursery rhyme” poem. It is so fitting for the age group. A good lesson on missing a friend.—good content and great monorhymes. It should do well in the contest. Have a great day- Alexis
