Fell for a Scottish girl long ago.  Pretty as a picture,  but
Heart  as cold as an empty Edinburgh street  on a wet
January Monday morning, when the chiseled 
Craigleith sandstone blackened by smoke 
Repels  the rain from the Forth,
And the steep roofs pour 
Water into the runnels
Down the cobbled 
Streets....

My wicked blood runs black,
A cautionary tale

Giving proof to my old fear,

I see a mage, a wizard,
Or more correctly, one to be.

He is taking his final test.

If he passes this test, 
All his training will be complete.

He repels an attack,
Then one more, 
And one more.

Is he almost done?
I do not know.

All this magic,
And not even a word.
I guess he must stay silent.

I can see the concentration 
Written on his face.

What thoughts are in his head?
