Pearl
A Plumped purple pearl
rich off from its chain
Shined in reflection
of a diamond stone
in all the same expenses....

An anxious tick anticipates a drop;
if it is thick, he knows he’ll have to stop.
But if it’s thin, a thought to make him smile:
plumped up again in just a little while…...

she was a gorgeous vision
I still see her pinkish alabaster skin
Rubenesque plumped up coral lips
her olive dress drawing out her eyes
the prettiest corpse ever next week...

Perfection
Curtains opened
each fold two inches apart
Waiting for the arrival
Cushions neatly plumped
Dust off the mantelpiece
Fluff off the floor
Cucumber Sandwiches on the table
Tea in the Teapot
Knock at the door
On time I see
It's quarter past four...

Thanksgiving Day
Thanksgiving soon coming to town
Turkey plumped up and golden brown
‘tho some like white meat
The dark can’t be beat
To the table we all sit down.

First begin the meal with a prayer
Thanking God for everyone there
Let the feast begin
Knife and fork, dig in
There seems to be food everywhere.

Potatoes and dressing and pies
To eat too much would not be wise
With plenty for all
And plates piled too tall
Indigestion will be your prize!...

The Perfect Lawn
Oh I wish I had gone for the turf
Instead of just seedin’ bare earth
It would be lush and green
And a joy to be seen
I wish I had gone for the turf

Oh I wish I had plumped for the turf
Of the green stuff we have such a dearth
The pigeons are feedin’
On all of my seedin’
I wish I had laid down some turf

The next time will surely be turf
I now know its value and worth
For the grass seed’s a dud
We’ve just patches of mud
How I wish I had just bought the turf...

It's Still Life...
Rough koi in oils
crimson speckled
liquid light-

swimming past
my northern wall
tucks me into bed at night

Velvet seas
plumped goose feathers
prickled ends-

Every pillow
trimmed in satin
hoping we could make amends...

Hammered copper bowls
green in skin
sleeping sound-

In the dark
I hear you weeping
Now I know you're still around

Calloused fingers
braille to read me
eyeless sight-

Atmosphere
we caused, created
tucks me into bed at night......
