The Whiskey Taster’s Flavor Guide

It's Still Life...

Rough koi in oils
crimson speckled
liquid light-

swimming past
my northern wall
tucks me into bed at night

Velvet seas
plumped goose feathers
prickled ends-

Every pillow
trimmed in satin
hoping we could make amends...

Hammered copper bowls
green in skin
sleeping sound-

In the dark
I hear you weeping
Now I know you're still around

Calloused fingers
braille to read me
eyeless sight-

Atmosphere
we caused, created
tucks me into bed at night...
