Gulfs
A gulf between us, but we relate,
You're an official, I'm a shepherd,
But we both have bodies, legs,
But you can get better upon illness,
‘Cos upon Pilate you do wait....

"What is truth?"

When you sidestep Jesus,
You sidestep Truth.

When you sidestep Truth,
You mask corruption.

When you mask corruption,
Truth sidesteps you.

"Truth is a Person."...

Burial
In the evening after Jesus had died
Joseph for his body to Pilate applied.
     With clean linen arrayed
in a tomb he was laid
a stone being rolled across the outside.

Matthew 27.57-60...

Jesus of Nazareth, the King of the Jews
This is the King of the Jews,
The inscription proclaimed to all
Who passed by the cross on Golgotha’s hill.
Pilate could not have known that day
That the words he had inscribed there
Were the TRUTH to mankind revealed....

A MAN CALLED PILATE

A man called Pontius Pilate
In order to prevent a riot
Had Jesus killed
The Scriptures fulfilled
Now Christians need not be quiet

Good Friday
Pilate:
Pilate, scared, washed his
hands.
A crackdown by Caesar
loomed.
Pharisees threatened.

The Sentence:
Pharisees threatened.
Jesus doomed; scripture
fulfilled.
Crowd shrieked: CRUCIFY!

Barrabas:
Pilate asked which one?
Give us Barabbas, all cried.
Scripture playing out....

I WONDER

I often wonder just how things would have been if it had been the Prophet Muhammed who had stood trial before Pontius Pilate that day, and just what would have been his wife's message to Pontius then . . .

Hang that Muhammed up
And then leave him out to dry
Do not ask me why

"Just a thought" . . . : /...

I am the scribe who spends my day fixing angles to a pin
yet in night dreams I spill my seed despoiling Seraphim.
I am the pilot holding fast to a course that cannot win
I am the finger on the trigger to loose the dread Sarin
but through it all I only feel this icy cold within
and pride in duty honoured, is this my greatest sin?...

Healed
Stinking deep thinking
Line lessons and car rolls
Ding dong bells
Easter in the air
Ink stars rainbow colours
Wonder woman painted in black
Hack the angels call Pilate and pirates Jesus
But a dice is cast
Plan A or plan B
Jesus thought
But he knew what to teach
To heal through the cross
We thought T was gross
But he taught T was no loss....

What Is Truth?
The question posed by a politician to Jesus after his arrest
It was Pontius Pilate Governor of Judea from A.D. 26-36.
To this day the answer still eludes politicians

The politician and the diplomat
Two different tools used to make ugly truths palatable
And beautiful truths unrecognizable

Politicians and diplomats never say No
Their Yes means maybe and their Maybe means No...

Toilet Like Pilate
A facility he had not used
But about it already enthused:
A not funny challenging toilet,
Water needing like Pontus Pilate:
Just to climb it effusive pride bruised
And when one was through with it still mused

Twelve litres of water when not late:
What one might be right to tag Plain Fate
The wildest cats would towards its slouch,
The wildest man on it limply crouch;
Not a convenience you'd for it vouch,
Found faults in the nastiest language crouch....

Premium Member The Tuscan Sculptor
Michelangelo was the Tuscan sculptor,
who carved the splendid Pieta:
the inconsolable and sorrowful Madonna,
who mourns her expired Son
put to death by Pilate, the Roman Governor,
by the will of a deranged crowd...
This Renaissance man carved
the Pieta out of white marble,
God created him out of the dust.
reminding him how vain is human pride;
and he pondered over that much,
giving his masterpiece a divine light...

Crucified
Under the shining light
Knelt before the words of Pontius Pilate
With Judas alongside
Did sins of creed bestow
upon me the cry of the century
John, did thee see
My crimes wash away
In Jordan, or was it just me?
Is Apostles' Creed devoid of truth
For did He visit Hell?
While He resurrected.
Take me down that path
So I build my own shrine
While the Holy Lance digs deep
And take away me,
But no one to throw, no one to see
While I hang on the dogwood.
