Premium Member Pitty-Pat, Dribble Drat

Again, I felt it skip a beat;
the heart goes pitty-pat.
It seems I am dehydrated;
I can’t imagine that.
If you don’t mind, I think I’ll pass;
I cannot down another glass
until I first excrete.

Premium Member Not Standing Pat

trumpeting the deportation of Tren de Aragua killers
only one democrat stood up, few even clapped

if congress isn’t united about that
it’s a good thing the president’s not standing pat

Premium Member Pat

Rat-a-tat and pit-a-pat!
‘Pon my word!
Pit-a-pat and rat-a-tat!

It’s a bird –
A woodpecker knocking!
Loudest I’ve heard!

His noise shocking!.
Thrashing the habitat.
His visage mocking.

Premium Member No More Pitty Pat

Pitty Pat the wonder cat
Ate more than a gutter rat
A wonder but really fat
Beaten with a baseball bat

Now there's no more Pitty Pat
I wonder wonder where she's at
Under ground or in a vat
Or eaten by that gutter rat
cat

Pat a Cake Pat a Cake

Pat a cake pat a cake baker man
Bake me a cake as fast as you can
Hurry up fatty I’ve not got all day
With service like this you expect me to pay?
It hasn’t been pricked or marked with a “B”
Now how can I give that to baby for tea?

Premium Member Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid

Pat Garrett sent Billy to heaven -
plugged 'im with slugs, numbering seven.
How he got to heaven, I don't know -
that lowdown, no-count so and so.
The Kid grew wings, said, "Glory hallelujah -
up here, bullets go straight through ya."

Count Pat was a bald aristocrat
Dreamt of becoming a bureaucrat
He loved riddles and red tape

Premium Member A Lass Called Pat Limerick

There once was a lass who waddled.
She liked running, but she dawdled.
                  With one terrible roar,
She fell hard to the floor.
Pat gave up eating Mac Donalds!

Premium Member Waiting For Pat

She was waiting for Pat to come around.
To figure out that she was the one to be found.
He left with dollies on his arm, to the boats.
She did not mind, he was sowing his oats.

I will always be here, she thought, and rightly so.
She had nowhere else to be, nowhere to go.
Other men invited her to do this and that.
But she was saving herself for her friend Pat.

Pit-Pat Pounding

The blue skies are clear again, No wind tears apart, yet the sound of pounding rain beats against my heart, The clear sky will darkle soon, Thunder will go boom, Prepare to hear rain's sweet tune, And watch lightning zoom, Listen to that faint drumming, That relentless din, Pit-pat, the rains are coming, I feel it within.

UNAPPRECIATED

All I wanted was simple
to be held, to be noticed
to feel like I mattered
in someone’s quiet way.

But here I a
reaching out into nothing
hoping for a hand
to remind me I’m still whole.

And it hurts
not like a cut or a bruise
but like a heart
that kept believing too long.

I only wished for a thank you
a soft word, a nod
but what I get instead
is silence that feels like a slap.

Pat On the Back

Pat on the back makes someone eased,
Filling the heart with joy or pride;
It makes one feel so excited,
Setting all of his fears aside.

Negative thoughts are thrown away,
Bringing them all to oblivion;
Exulting in sheer happiness,
He has leaped for satisfaction.

Discarded doubts are left behind,
Never will they remain on track;
Real confidence will truly boost
Because of the pat on the back.

Pat the Nonagenarian
No one would guess Pat was over ninety She'd had pins and tucks, is trim and lively With implanted bust Inflated buttocks She drives men crazy, undeniably. That is till they get her into the sack Pat can't raise a smile as her face would crack Her buttocks and bust Pop when they are touched Sadly for Pat no man ever comes back.

Premium Member Miss Pat and Her Rules

The list of infractions
caused many to bypass Miss Pat’s residence
Home for Glistening Seniors.

Many moved toward more lively establishments
That allowed fraternizing, drinking and dancing
All the things her home banned.

Miss Pat had dispensed with two rules
hoping to win them back.
Going to bed at seven
and waking up at four a.m.
She liked to serve breakfast at five.

Apparently it was not enough.
She was out of business in a short time.

Premium Member Storm Cloud Pat

the second Pat walks into the room
I sense the cloud that is over her head
It is gray, gloomy, full of grouse and gripes

She does not have to open her mouth
for me to recognize it is there
a storm ready to burst open

flooding the room with negativity
trying to flush away all laughter and mirth
I run from the room the second I see her

My feelers on “ready alert”
flight or fight popping in and out of my brain
I know Pat, I used to live with her.

Pat Hingle

(DEDICATED TO PAT HINGLE WHO DIED JANUARY 3, 2009.)

He was very talented and he had many fans.
He starred as Commissioner Gordon in Batman.
When he guest starred on the Andy Griffith Show, everybody laughed.
He nearly died in 1960 when he fell down an elevator shaft.
He starred in Hang 'Em High and in Sudden Impact.
It was a sad day when he died and that's a fact.
When you get down to it, he was a great guy.
Now many people are sad because they have to say goodbye.
