Ontario Impresario
There once was a gal from Ontario
Who thought prophecy was her scenario
In reality she spewed
Fallacies quite crude
What an odd, erroneous impresario!...

What If
We're into May temps are still low
A record it is but still cold winds blow
It's Southern Ontario
Bad for this scenario
It's real poopy still threatening snow ...

A Hop, Skip, and a Dance
Britainers have no idea of distance
Ontario to B.C. is just a hop, skip and a dance
About 3,000 miles
London to Aberdeen 450 miles
Holy crap, no chance to change your underpants...

Beer In Supermarkets
Do you know why us guys have happy faces
Beer is for sale in supermarkets, good gracious
Here in Ontario
A bit backward I know
Even grandmas can get blotto and walk around aimless...

Up To Our Ying Yangs
It's December 8th in Ontario, still no snow
Maybe the gods will spare us, ya never know
A blessing that would be
Since sitting on Santa's knee
Up to my ying yang was nothing nouveau...

Mother Nature
Whatta summer for us in Southern Ontario
Thanks to Mother Nature for this glorious show
How much do we owe her
A couple of bucks we've incurred
Maybe just a normal summer except for the snow?...

Beach Weather
It's beach weather in September in Southern Ontario
What is this, a prank by the guy down below
Not really complaining
My joy I'm restraining
Trying to remain calm and not let my huge grin show...

An Old Mammal
Wettest summer in Ontario in the last twenty annuls
Turning quite aquatic, could swim the English Channel
That used to be a big deal
Now it's lost it's appeal
I'm really no hero, just an over-the-hill mammal...

Black Squirrel -Tanka-
Running through the trail
I caught a quick glimpse of it
It ran up a tree
Ran across a power line
I've never seen one before.

Sudbury Children
Poem about Sudbury, Ontario, Canada
The bush out back
where children play.
some trees, some rocks.
A love to say.
The house out front.
It's porch cement.
The dog tied up.
His dropping pent.
Your parents home
where light is warm.
You come in late,
despite alarm....

Big Nickel Jail
Poem about Sudbury, Ontario, Canada
It's said by some
that the Big Nickel Mine
ran a jail for years
when there wasn't a fine.
There were hundreds of kids
whom their parents locked up
while they took their pictures
with an old tin cup.
Though they rattled the bars
and some did pout.
After just a few minutes
the parents let them out....

Super Stack
Poem about Sudbury, Ontario, Canada
There's a sky that's high
where the chimney's higher.
Where the smoke blooms grey
and the winds are drier.
There's a chimney round
with it's white strobe lights,
calling out to planes
through the days and nights.
With a rim in white
and a stack of grey
In the North we say...
It's our home to stay!...

Orange Busses
Poem about Sudbury, Ontario, Canada
I remember orange busses
if I'm showing my age.
When Sudbury's fleet
was the best and the rage.
I remember them coming
while I stood at the stop.
They were bright, they were bold
and the colour went pop.
I remember them ending
when the day finally came,
when it seemed one was left
by the highway in fame....

Nickel Children
Poem about Sudbury, Ontario, Canada
All the nickel children
are playing on the rocks.
Girls exchanging numbers
and boys exchanging knocks.
Some are picking blueberries.
Some play in the moss.
Some are throwing grass bombs
as far as they can toss.
All the nickel children
are playing on the rocks.
All around a nickel
we made so that it shocks....

Big Nickel Eyes
Poem about Sudbury, Ontario, Canada
It's at the top of the hill.
It's silver and shiny.
It's broad and it's tall.
It'll make you feel tiny.
It's above an old mine.
It's next to some rails.
It's a dot on the horizon.
It's not heads and not tails.
It's a circle with edges.
It's a coin large in size.
It's the money we made
for our Big Nickel Eyes....
