Ruffled woodpecker in her orange and pink dress
Hopping up and down, drilling on a cookie press.
Dancing to her own melody, a jackhammer’s song.
I see and I smile, glad I meandered along....

Premium Member Autumn Morning
I woke early this November morning
just before shadows fell at day's dawning.
In a drizzling shower this Autumn day,
I meandered through a mist filled meadow
where wild roses drank the morning dew.

Eap-Seattle
The rain continues to plummet and fall
And the gray of the day looks like it will never go away.
I long for the boisterous blue of a hot summer’s day.
It seems our shy sun has wandered and meandered astray
From today’s and tomorrow’s forecast much to my dismay....

Premium Member Let Go My Ego
I feel gifted.
Many tools I received at birth.
Many more I have gained
As I’ve meandered on this earth
Why do I feel this gives me a license
To think I’m better than most
But still I do,
This is my curse
Since this started a long time ago
I think it’s time, to eulogize my ego....

Premium Member I'll See You On the Other Side
T’was in the dead of night I wandered
drifting lonely as a log.
Down the river I meandered
without a friend, on through the fog.
While I staggered to my bitter end
I thought of you, waiting around the bend.

Winsome
Wake me not for here I slumbered
Intent to dream on days I have not numbered
Natural to the logic of sinister time
Shame it was, the way you meandered
Over my heart like callous pebbles. Slime
Me with frivolous perceptions, and I slandered,
Emasculated, forgive you still for being blind....

Winter Memory

Winter has passed
Snow melted away
But, the air was fresh
So beautiful, that day

Water meandered
Through the trees
In a quietness
That brought such ease

Winter's beauty spreads far
To distant mountains there
I look, I watch and wander
Finding beauty everywhere

Scream
In this dream...

Scream -- the figment of a dream, but so much more
Confusion rakes my brain, closes each door
Right from the start, he has meandered through my visions
Empty and cold, I find him making my decisions
Adding painful secrets that stain my real life...and there's
Much more to come...with the force of a knife...

In this dream of reality......

Knots Knotted In Mind
All life I wandered,
In search of vague meandered,
But when I pondered,
Said my long subdued heart’s voice:
Unknot all knots, mute all noise.

The maples blushed attempting to outshine
the flamboyant forsythias.
Willows wept strands of puce pollen.
The air lay damp, ponderous, pregnant
with the promise of peonies.
The mulched ground was pierce with spears of hyacinths;
crowned with dancing daffodils
and fragrant hyacinth.
The sweet ripe smell of manure meandered
through the freshly turned soil;
steaming in the morning mist....

Poetic Praises
~ I wandered about her winding words and whispered wishes, strolled between her somber stanzas and passionate phrases, lingered in her drifting sunsets of amethyst skies, meandered beneath her clouded days and sunrise kisses, while walking through each wonderful world her thoughts had created until I found myself desperately lost… which was my hope all along ~

I am a tactful poet:
She never knew the words,
So I meandered into the night
And the night was dazed, too.

I am a tactful poet:
She never knew the words,
So I composed until the verses
Trickled over southern hills
And my heart was mourning, too.

I am a tactful poet:
She never knew the words,
So with my once blithe soul
shapeless like a human without bones,
I sauntered into the dawn
To find a new, vanilla love....

The years meandered ‘long ‘til I hit twenty
dreams of fame, girls and money

Married too young, I was a jerk
tethered now, to the daze of work

Lost in their haze, decades sped by
       spent a fortune, wondering why

    Finally quit, seventy nearly
my body’d paid ever so dearly

And yes, the years meander once again
in a comfy rocker ~ with paper and pen

"You have left my side but, you will never leave my heart." Quote _Unknown I found a pet cemetery while exploring, and meandered thinking of my own pets gone; I read meaningful inscriptions for cats and dogs, that were so full of love that they made me cry. Oh yes, if love could have saved my pets they would still be with me and not a memory.

Premium Member The Magic of Mimosa
The magic of mimosa meandered,
In her mystical mind and on the mirror.
Mesmerizing moments of men!

With mannish kindness they kissed her hands
and dainty, debutante fingers
Masculine too, having merciful manners

Musicality and poetry, a mighty mix.
The moon shed musical tunes midst the mimosa.
Moving down sweet memoir’s corridors.
To waltz, in mighty halls, with golden etched walls.

Premium Member Ephemera
Ephemera, a short lived life
of cherished times before the strife
meandered into detritus
with depth enough to bury thus
beneath the memories with spite.

Photographs torn up by his wife,
the shreds did cut him like a knife,
and nevermore did he discuss
ephemera!

Will his life soon be free from rife,
will he discern a golden fife
to lead him on without a fuss,
down new pathways where he can trust
treasure in the scraps of his life's
ephemera?

She gazed into the stars
looking at heavenly bodies
as they slowly meandered
across the the darken sky
picking out various star clusters
and locating bright shining planets
watching the sky slowly move
 like a giant wheel
 turning
resembling a silent clock
with imaginary hands
with each new upcoming hour
it slowly moved in motion
all in precision like clockwork
same route year after year
like time the forward motion
will continue on for millions of years....

Untitled #150 / Some Time Later
Some time later I returned to Lake Norman,
not as an underdressed yet fearless sailor-man,
but as myself, passing through Davidson
late on a June Sunday afternoon
on my way to visit Duke University.
How lazy and peaceful it was that day!
How calmly the students meandered about
the innocent, quiet campus!
How cheerful the squirrels! How happy the clouds!
How glorious the sunset!
How small the world became at that moment
compared to the vastness of stormy days long since past!...

The Smile You Give
While walking on to work this day
I dared to take a gander
At the many faces passing me,
Who, quickly on, meandered.

When, without notice, one looked back
And surely gave me a smile
Then, my tired feet relaxed
And felt could go a mile.

You see, that’s all we need to do,
It’s recognize each other
Give to them that which you want
The love of one another.

So take this truth today and hold it
Near and to your heart
Keep in mind the smile you give
Will give another a start....

Premium Member The Morel of the Story
She climbed the hill of daffadils, her hips held a sway. The mountain laurels were in bloom, this bright sunny day. Meandering thru the forest the soft moss felt so light, she suddenly discovered a lovely mushroom site. She was quite happy with her find, the village of mushrooms surrounded by pines. They were off white, matsutake, if I gather several pounds, how much will they pay? The morel of this story is really not profound, as long as your still on this earth be sure to look around....
