Lonely Night
The moon hangs her mournful head
like a jilted love.
Tears rain... cacaphonic stars.

I asked again for everything…
she gave nothing in return

A jilted strand of loneliness
—unwoven and unheard

Scorching sun aloft jilted men
Warming up like a sizzling plate
Winds whirling, bodies teeming ten
Trudging on a forsaken den....

Sand slipping through her fingers
Of wasted times and jilted lovers
Sat with her spaniel on the porch
Poured herself a nice little scotch
Faithful to each other they were
As a doe and a deer...

So much for the lady from Toledo She had oodles of available dough She slipped quietly away One beautiful spring-like day And, I hear she has another poor beau.

Jilted
I knew a girl named ______
I saw her every day
I told her that I loved her
and now she runs away

I guess I didn’t love her
we won’t be getting hitched
for how could I have been in love
with such a silly _______?...

The Jilted Muse
A better critic
  than writer…

Your tongue sharpens,
  as your pen hacks

Bastardized on the altar
  of cold description

Disavowed by the jilted Muse,
 —ink bleeding red

Ethics
takes a nap,
in a blink,
without qualms.

      *

A jilted lover, like
a broken moon, takes
a jump from the hill.

In this twilight
who am I,
in this crowd of sinners ?

Warming tears,
            wept from jilted skies,
      whorl the ocean’s patient soul.
Fragile signs - unread, are everywhere;
   shoulders tapped by glacial ghosts,
            shrug in nonchalance.

Jilted Lover
I give you your first flower
Before all your lovers
send them by the hour.
Receive my flower.

Soft and brittle
But how mighty its power!
Let it move in you
when times and sweet, and when sour.

I picked it from my lover.
So here's your first flower....

This Generation
This Generation

We’re a generation of single mothers;

Generation X, a generation of sinners.

The jilted generation, rejected by society;

Look down upon, thought less of,

Underestimated, just as we wish to be.

once impulsive now

deserted forsaken
                  cast aside
jilted
stranded
              rejected
dumped
ditched
                 unused

neglected
             idle
                unoccupied
uninhabited

I stand empty

      words fail me...

A Romantic is always afraid deep inside
expectations will never come true

Chasing a mirage that stays beyond reach
waiting and hoping in lieu…

A Romantic betroths those lies of the heart
in amorous moments to roam

Wooing a dream that’s jilted by sleep
to wander, to wonder—alone

Jilted From the Altar
If love was just a picture,
Then the frame would be the heart.

Those who waited in faith and patience,
Remained recluse in love.

Love is the little hope that one's wants,
But deserts in times of needs...

Abandoned by true love is the misery of reality,
As only those who went through knows the opium of true love....

Our Fated Selves
Folding in to convention
Sealed in creases of acceptance
Maligned and misled
By the false promises
Of a stolen heart
We chase the white whale
Of validation
Into waters of denial…
  “Fury—the rallying cry
   of our vengeful spirit
   Hate—the jilted lover
   of our fated selves”

Hannah Adderley jumped with a wail
from the clifftop at Middleton Dale
but her petticoats cute
made a great parachute
for a soft landing, wow! What a tale!

(Hannah, of Stoney Middleton, Derbyshire, had been jilted at the altar
and although her suicide attempt was a failure she died of natural causes
 two years later in 1764)...

I write to vent.... my reason, the pain of an unrequited heart. I must be cautious that my lamenting doesn't askew the literary balance. Master Sailor
The Master Sailor

Along the tourists jilted beach walked
saw a rope, thick as Popeye’s arms
sticking up from the sand.
I pulled and up came a schooner
with its crew on board.

We set sail away from winter shores
it disappeared in a funky haze.
A dream had come true, a master
of my own vessel.
It didn`t last someone
pulled the plug....
