as the bright sun sets
beyond the horizon
white impatience in
full bloom decorate
the sands of home
creating much beauty
we sit and wait and wait and sit
it never hurts, not one bit
impatience chases my husband away
he cannot wait; he will not stay
I am the turmoil
The thought you just can't let go
Oh, you so wish to
Darkening mindset
An increasing impatience
Do you know me yet?
A side view glance, wry
Scholastic eyes, wise - white hare
Speaks demands answers
My mouth dictating rivers
Speaks in under-water dreams.
Sagebrush Sam was tired of blowing
His impatience was keenly showing
Always in sandy land that needed no mowing
He yearned for Iowa where it was snowing
A
Pink dawn
Reflecting
Interlacing
Light
Red
Open
Beaks, calling
Impatience in
Nests.

Rain pummels my soul
beast holds dear, weakening me
Looks of anguish, anger me
Impatience runs through
as their dejected glances
burn. I am weak in their eyes.
There once was a proud Aries like me,
whose impatience kept from being free.
But all my pride inside
never had the chance to hide
the goal of winning confidently!
Dreams and dreams, of the day I'll be released.
Thoughts and thoughts, have already increased.
Anticipation anticipation, begins to build.
Impatience impatience, a tank already filled.
Form:
A power struggle with my flesh
fighting with my impatience
playing tug a war with my addictions
arm wrestling with my anger
shadow boxing with my fears
temptation is such a waste of time
I sit by the side of the road
While the driver changes the wheel
I do not like the place I have come from
I do not like the place I am going to
Why do I watch him change the wheel
With impatience.
Sometimes too long,
Creating unbearable impatience,
Sometimes too fast,
Like a one word sentence.
Sometimes too long,
The cause of unbearable anxiety,
Sometimes too short,
Like the best times of itself.
I knew from the start
you fill the void
we would never be apart
you fill the void
you have a place in my heart
you fill the void
from my impatience
to you getting annoyed
you fill the void. -TA

Young king Tut, time honoured pharaoh
In rage, deaf like the sea, with fires impatience
Boy king worshipped as a God
The daintiest last, to make the end most sweet.
Buried with skill not food for worms
But time for him grants a heavier doom

everyone’s entitled
to their fits of insanity
inappropriateness
rudeness
ignorance
that is~
everyone but me
heaven forbid
I should once
leave my smile
by the wayside
and let show
a hint of impatience
that just simply
wouldn’t do
AP: 2nd place 2020
The space between us is becoming tense
I smile to reassure you
The waiter’s hands are clenched
With impatience, he looks at you
You look at me I want to flee
It’s obvious there won’t be a second date
Please believe it was a mistake
I forgot my wallet on our first date
... tadpole wiggles its tail
'neath the reed's
faint ripple
itching to leap, to croak
till its lungs
puff purple.
... from up a nest chirping
a fledgling aches
to fly,
swift swallows swish by,
swooshing up
to the sky!
Impatience is my enemy
undeniably my nemesis
Holding my serenity at bay
Outside of its border,s
On the edge of its trust
With me at arms length
Patience will not prevail
as i am bound to fail
To fight this condition
i write you a rendition
of this tortured mans tale
IMPATIENCE
it’s spring gloomy day
and i watch from the window
strange quiets and excitements
hang in the humidity
like ghostly, long caged voices
the green explosion
has destroyed winter’s hold,
silenced the screaming,
and impatient nature
awaits a late burst of sun
Thou hast my love and I desire thine.
Dost thou know or knowing, care?
I keep the nymph's lonely station.
But my impatience grows savage.
If thou carest not, my love
the stars will keep their motion
flowers will still need water
I will learn stillness
the feeling will rust
Leaps and bounds from a former state,
Will it ever be enough?
Not now, for I still hesitate.
Swaying by the line, unable to move,
Your impatience impedes me,
Will my fears you disprove?
In the absence of hope I'm slowly drowning,
Here silently screaming,
But the days you keep counting.
The night breeze is softly speaking
a language only hearts
(like ours with emotions peaking)
read before breeze departs.
Sun once more fills the skies ,
duty of day applies,
while our impatience cries.
Finally once again seeking,
the night breeze is softly speaking.
The cosmos is extreme
As am I
As are you
Complex beyond comprehension
Bit by bit we comprehend
But impatience
Like a greyhound anxious to escape its trap
Can lead headlong
To a savage end
Mindless instinct
Spilt blood
It’s more revealing
To follow the rabbit
Down the hole
Calmly

Warm
April
winds scatter
wicks left by winter...
snow melts revealing barren soil.
Spring
is late
awakening
impatience in me...
to kiss Lucy on lush meadows.
Voices
with sweet
whispers rise
to the dazzling clouds....
anticipating more mild days.
