Against the glass it beats its wings
and hungers for the glowing flame.
It clashes, flutters, then it flings
itself again, repeats the same.

The moth will never cease its fight
to reach the blaze of burning light.
It does not know, like any fool,
that fields beyond are still and cool....

shapeshifting God of the Underworld hungers,
longing for music as laughter,
stars that sparkle in young eyes.
He takes what Hebe gifts, 
lacking such grace Himself.
Wheels pass:
Proteus sleeps, 
sated until the next passing,
waking with a song to feed again....

to the fact that most dogs are now rather dumb.
They waddle and limp to whoever has food,
regardless of thought or apparent mood,
led by hungers conjured and imbued.
Forgetting to hunt, they now excrete and eat all day,

against savage
