She’s an odd duck,
Weird, crazy, unbelievably strange.
A Pollyanna, a Goody-two-shoes,
I ran toward her,
Praying they were right.
I was ready to welcome her to my tribe....

Goody Two Shoes
we are two little goody two shoes
eating our yummy good dog chews
we sit and stand , when asked by Laura Loo
you should have a doggie to pat when your blue
to snuggle and huggle close to you, too.

Goody Almondy
Tasting on goody almondy
escape into broody
Felt moody
I'm nobody
life a parody
cared? nobody.
laughed? everybody.
I don't want tragedy
neither comedy
no people of shady,
no clings of needy,
but a buddy
who is not noddy,
a life almost steady
 like somebody....

We Deal Kindly With Witches
We Deal Kindly With Witches

By Elton Camp

The Puritans were righteous as can be
And killed every witch they did see
Dame Goody they did accuse
To confess she did refuse
Didn’t burn; hung her from a tree

(The burning of witches was in Europe. The Puritans merely hanged, drowned, or crushed them to death with stones.)...

Polly, you say?
  Yes, Polly-Wolly
My, that's cute

There's more
  What is it?
Polly-Wolly-Doodle

You're so creative
  I knew you'd say that

What else do you have for me?
  Polly-Wolly-Doodle-All-the-Day
Did you dream that up all by yourself?
No, I flat out stole it

You're evil, you are!
  And you are 'Goody-Two-Shoes?'
That I am.
Oh, no. Here we go again......

Premium Member Goody Goody Gumdrops
Goody Goody Gum drops,
It was an expression of delight
When children saw this treat
Their eyes lit up like stars at night
The inventor Murray Taylor
Concocted this ice cream treat
That was bubble gum flavoured ice cream
Filled with gum drops. What a treat.
Over the years, Goody Gumdrops lost its favour,
But the expression Goody Goody Gumdrops
It is an adage of delight for us all to still savour....

Too Good For You
I'm not going to go down to you level,
No matter how much i like you.
I'm not going to be one of those girls
Who's too devoted to a relationship.

I've been that girl once, and it didn't work for me.
I gave him everything,
he gave me nothing.

All my life I've been a little goody two-shoes

But now it's time to go out there and say
I don't give a damn about you.

I'm just way to good for you I guess....

goody-goody
was she
must say
a bit
too much
for me

goody shoes
are two
in one
she stuffs
those don'ts
been done

the other
kept for
her dos
those rights
best left
outta sight

we all
won't see
these things
well done
saved for
foolish fun

one goes
near here
nor there
searching so
for goodys
who care

goody goody
gum drop
more than sweets
may mean
a lot

ate a gum drop
just popped it in
rolled around
let it spin

left and right
hugged my cheeks
swashed about
then repeats

savor the juice
sugary delight
tickles tongue
this tiny bite

stuck to teeth
once it's in
while i smiled
big green grin

might not be
a better thing
than this
except a warm
sloshy kiss

Premium Member Candy For All
Mama always had them ready,
			goody bags--one hundred twenty--
			covering our kitchen table.
She'd make sure all kids got plenty.

			Up our gravel driveway, squealing
costumed kids came in a flurry.
"Trick or treat" earned them their candy.
To the next house, off they'd hurry.

As the night progressed, though wee ones
ceased to come, Mom still gave candy.
Tall, masked ghouls with manly voices
asked, and Mom obliged them grandly....

Premium Member My Grandma Knitted Me a Sweater
My grandma knitted me a sweater, and I said “Goody! Good!”
I am a full-loved puppy who brings whatever love she should.
Grandma LaGooks was thrilled when I wore it proudly all day long.
At the end of the day, she and I wrote a puppy dog song.

We sang it for the family, they were amazed, I am sure.
My howling is phenomenal, and grandma’s voice is so pure.
I will love this sweater until the rest of my life, I know.
And it keeps me cozy and warm outside in the frosty snow....

The Kiss of Chaos
The kiss of chaos
chaotic kisses,
what a gaudy
goody
this
is.
Tiny increments
of change,
lick your lips
and rearrange,
molecules
and atoms
charged,
with a random love
at large.

met you in a laundromat
feeling old and feeling fat
kissed you on a daring whim
chaos dancing on the brim,
of a mouth
like
neverwas
in my dreams and just
because.

Kiss of chaos,
random acts
altering
chaotic facts
stack the cards and
tilt the game,
I just relit
an old
flame....

And Now Mend
(letters to my presido-elect): i

good must be lucky
else
luck must be goody
that niger now lurks in seas of goody-goody

1960 as father sang
was her year unlucky
who dwelt
on many a natural grant
with sons great
that beheaded must
lie in tombs
the untimely tombs
of countless days

and now mend
your brutalised
your kwashiokored
your maimed
your exiled

for
good must be lucky
else
luck must be goody
that niger now lurks in seas of goody-goody
