for treasure
in the backyard.
My eyes lit up at
the can opener,
it glimmered silver in the earth-
except for the rusty parts.

He made another hole
by the white tree
and I polished off
the rock, that was
so smooth-

I found a penny caked in dirt,
so old,
it must have been worth

with taints of everything I'd known, 
or felt I knew --- 
my modern lifestyle 
had been too cosmopolitan, false -
Sunset glimmered on the rusty sills,
yet the comfort  grew warmer
and I was finally

And all hope vanished under the dragon's onslaught,
A knight young and bold , stood steadfast and ready,
His pride burned through the shroud of darkness,
His sword glimmered , like it was crafted by the heavens,
With his mighty stead , he rode to his king's calling,
