Eerie
There was a florist in southern McNungus
Sloppily smeared with soil humongous.
Customers suspected something was wrong
When proof arrived indisputably strong:
His ears displayed five varieties of fungus....

The Florist and the Poet
A florist
working in her shop,
snips and clips and cuts away,
making a fragrant floral bouquet.

A poet
writing at her desk,
picks and prunes her words with care,
making paper bouquets with others to share....

The Sun Did Rise
Before our eyes
Never felt odd
Being one with God
True heart within
Where mercy has been
All clouds we cleared
God love appeared
Taking to the forest
God was our florist
His true beauty was seen
On which may lean...

Premium Member The Spring Bouquet
The florist arrived smiling at my door
And handed me a beautiful spring bouquet
Prettier than I had ever seen before
The florist arrived smiling at my door.
Flowers helped my composure to restore
For a few minutes the sadness went away
The florist arrived smiling at my door
And handed me a beautiful spring bouquet.

Take Me To
I love what once was
A time without so many laws,
I want to run wild in the forest
                                      And be the royal florist,
I want a time with knights and royalty
Because that’s a time where people valued loyalty...

Premium Member Just For You
If poetic words were flowers
I’d arrange a big bouquet
Wrapped in pretty florist paper
And would send it on its way.

If this bright day were a poem
I'd condense it into rhyme,
With a ribbon made of sunshine
You could open any time.

If love were made of sweetest words
I'd enfold you carefully.
This world could never bring you harm
Saved with my poetry....

''Emma''
Congratulations our pageant queen:
Days and nights you nurtured nicety
Like florist watching bud to petal;
You starved yourself amidst abundance
Nursing the shape , keeping the fitness;
Today all eyes are forgotten on you,
King and Queen’s mouths in agape;
All craning out necks on their toes
To have a glimpse of the newest queen:
Emma, Emma, Emma rends the air.

Flowers of Love
Bring me flowers while I am still alive....please
don't wait until I die.
It does not matter where they come from...
a field or florist, even, if it is only one.
Just one single flower, you brought to me, for
no special reason, just that you love me.
Please don't wait for death to come over me, and
then bring flowers for others to see.
Simple little flowers that grow everywhere...
would show me now, how much you care....

Water Glass Empty
Water glass up-side down.
Why do you have that frown ????
Need water soapbox clown.
Can't live without that drink.
Vomit into the bathroom sink.
Water has a putrid stink.
Baby needs some water.
Better off at the florist.
Call the people in congress hall.
There all at the ball.
Who then can I call ????
I'm only a few feet tall.
So I must die in horror ways.
ACID_RAIN water gives me pains.

I bring her red and white carnations
"Roses," she says, "only roses. Valentine's tradition."
Breezy pressure of non-acceptance
Words that flatten me like a dull sermon
Squirm inducing to understand what I'm up against
Commands that taste like salt
Re-booting the rhythm of ritual
Re-framing an approach to love
For however long the florist remains open

Premium Member Bartering With Babble Bear
Babble bear looked big and blustery and burly.
His eyes were large, and his hair was straight, not curly.
His fur was thick, and his snot was shiny and large.
He loved daisies, and the florist always said “no charge”
So, he got a bunch of honeycombs and took some in.
He put it on the counter and said, “this is a win.”
You keep giving me daisies and I will bring you honey.
It’s a lot tastier than that green yucky stuff you call money....

Rose Thorns
a rose's thorns are there for a reason.
the most delicate flower
needs the greatest protection.
the responsibility of caring
for something so sentimental
often outweights any allure of the harvest.
many can admire the beauty,
few can withstand the pain to hold on,
not a soul can keep one alive
by neglecting to give it light.
just as a florist cutting roses
early valentine's day morning,
the softest hearts are always
the first to be broken....

Premium Member First Date
Sunrise
I rise.

Today
THE day.

First date
My wait.

Nerves tense
Lose sense.

Mind swims
On dreams.

I search
Rose bunch.

Florist
Shows list.

Red rose
I choose.

Sunset
I’m set.

She comes
Breeze hums.

Says Hi
Pitch high.

Sound wafts
My heart.

Flower
Charms her.

Fingers fold
She holds.

Thorn pricks
She shrieks.

Rose wilts
Date splits.

Valentine's
A day surrounding love
Has reared its head
Dishing out roses
Which are usually red

A dash to the florist
To pick up some flowers
Choosing a card
Which may take some hours

Words with true meaning
Or a load of old tripe
Winning a person over
Because they're your type

This is my ditty
To give you some cheer
On a day full of nonsense
Which should last all year

Valentines is but a day
Tis all a bit funny
It's just a big reason
For the shops to take our money...

Toxic State
Not one to be a social butterfly,
no matter how hard they encouraged her to try,
she declined yet another blind date,
arranging the fragrant flowers were more important to her,
as the customers bought some for their dates or their mates,

Having the best florist business in town,
and good commercial property downtown,
she sold flowers for thirty straight years in a row,
Haley's beautiful arrangements voted the best on the shelfs,
Haley just not ever getting any herself.
