Flagging
Shook up shaking
the bigot tree
loose nuts crushing
they them me
crosses bashing
crosshair fit
I should know better
but I just can’t quit....

A guy who lived near Sausalido,
Could swim like a well aimed torpedo,
Whilst passing some kelp
He let out a yelp,
Which improved on his flagging libido!...

Golden Retrievers
Have you ever seen a sad retriever?
Of their true love, we are the receivers,
How many need to change a light bulb? None,
To them, there is perpetual sun.
Tongues lolling, tails wagging,
Always smiling, never flagging,
Yes, we love our happy fur friend dudes,
With their positive mental attitudes!...

Premium Member ---Buddhist Prayers Fly
Buddhist prayers fly
like cardinals and finches
above a white rail
square boxes hold orange mums
flagging down the yellow sun

the morning begins
seated on the back porch with tea
the cat's in my lap
the chair next to me empty
as are the springs flower beds

missing only you
a long lost part ever missed
an empty cushion
a single china teacup
one lonely pair of old shoes...

Stoned Cast
Sitting on a curbstone
Wondering at words and what they mean
Like what induced the man to call it flagstone?
Was he flagging needing a flat stone to lie on?
Or did he wish to iron a flag?
Did flag mean flat in someone’s second language?
Was flagging just a method used to quarry?
At least we know this stone is curbing traffic
I’m off to post a letter
Or maybe pole an “A”...

Possessions At Ol Jefferys House
I was walking in the streets in the country
Flagging down for any car
I was out of breath because I walked too far
A woman in a jeep stopped for me
I told her I want to call ol Jeffery
I am without my phone and car keys
I was glad when ol Jeffery answered me
I felt like I was losing my hair
however, he was there
I walked home worry free
Knowing he will be back for me...

Thank you Lord for walking with me
Through the shadowed vales and valleys,
Holding when I blindly stumble
Until flagging spirit rallies.
When you take the larger burden
Relieving me of its great heft;
You ask only that I carry
The modest portion that is left

Now that I’ve survived the danger
And have now safely swum to shore,
I know big waves would have swamped me
Had you not lifted me once more....

The Dancer and the Duende

Red skirt! Lithe body! She dances!
Flagging voluminous curtains of crimson,
daring the Duende to charge ---
she catches
his face,
his beard,
his breath;
stealing its petals with her teeth, she spins!
Dared to take it back,
he comes,
seizing the dusk with both hands,
for tomorrow,

the hibiscus in her hair will be dead.

Prison Time
Pain distilled in each brittle bar
Past deeds instill a vicarious scar
Sins of the past my corroding soul mar
Time and space bottled in a tiny jar
Flagging spirit falters; tired body must continually spar
Existing in bipolar realm with norms set by the thief, liar, mugger
Puffing away the endless moments, satiated by nicotine and tar
Availing light fleeting into distant world now so far
Barren heart eclipsed; a fading, falling star...

COPLA 96 INVOCATION : This Bad Guy World

How bad’s the Bad Guy State on its own
Strangles own peoples by its laws :
Rule by fear

Can the State’s only aim be foregone :
Shore up flagging image in the jaws –
Horse for Lear

Leaders come together to control
Wayward gods who know not One God :
God be leader

What about that One Great Soul
What’s His role in this God**** World :
Powerless Seer

Premium Member At House Murder
1890 Murder at home by Czech artist Jacob Schekander. One of the prettiest arts you will consider. Since it's a maze, as well as a drawing. Rather deter this rare and cryptic killing! Viewers' non-verbal idiom is unique and filthy. Is the man flagging the perished lady? I assume he is defending his fatality

Premium Member Chandelier
On my way to work the exotic night birds
would cluster on the corner of tenth and Sheridan
frantic and brimming with bling and street charm
a vibrant ball of painted desperation
flagging down throbbing tricks.
The tallest one moved with a champagne confidence
I nick named her Chandelier for her tacky elegance
she'd be the one, if I could ever slay my conscious.

For two years I'd pass by tenth and Sheridan
looking for a Chandelier in a third shift sky....

Butterfly
Butterfly

In the silence of regret, we lose our faith
In the noise of anger, we lose ourselves.

Find me a place where faith is healed
A place of refuge where I may grow like the wings of a butterfly,
Where my metamorphosis will empower my flagging will.

Let me feel the beat of your angelic wings against the cheek of my heart,
So that I may know what it feels to be loved.

Fear not my unawakened soul,
In you it will find its complement
Then only will I be complete......
