Economic Woes Pt2
In Zimbabwe you may think life is rough
A land where empty is enough
Remember the rule
Sell your car to buy fuel
To the first world this may seem rather tough...

Premium Member No Value
There is no value in working hard.
Is this not the great deception?
Money is as good as gold,
it has equal value;
Everything is fine,
first world problems
are nothing;
We can’t
lose....

Blessed
Blessed, here in the first world
I awaken to a warm room
Running water, clean clothes
And a rich abundance of food,
All the provisions that I need.

Sorry To Bother You
First world culture, Fourth Generation Rights
Travel and you must adjust: to avoid fights
And delays in "customer care," we declare:
"Sorry to bother you; I need my wages." Beware:
The first world mentality: "Do not grovel." We all do -
Some are commonplace, others disguise as culture...

First World Rich Country
As DRCongo is the first World rich country,
Congolese could be sleeping over the seas daily.
Now some Congolese run hear and there
Because of injustice systems
which empowering some people
to continue destroying others.
Reality of this World
which is not welcome.

came the first world war
then disease and depression
followed by more war

science fiction books
reigned stories of future times
of rule by machines

good bad indifferent
like the day the earth stood still
with gort put in charge

nazi fascist thoughts
military robots rule
sheesh...just thought of that

Premium Member Faded Picture In a Old Frame
Old faded Picture of a handsome young man
in soldiers uniform from the first world war
who gave his life for his country
once so loved and cherished
means nothing to anyone any more.

A face without a name
bought for 50 pence
on a second hand stall
not for the picture that's thrown away
but for the frame.

French Toast
Egg Milk Some bread Add butter In a frying pan Heat your frying pan modestly. Beat the egg, add the milk, dip the bread in that mixture. Each slice of dipped bread is added to the pan, and cooked gently until both sides are browned. It may be known as “French Toast” today, but did you know that before the First World War, nearly everybody referred to it as “German Toast”?

Blessed Are the Meek
Into the carnage
He came.
Beautiful,
Aloof, noble.
Pure of heart.

All around him
Fear shouted.
His fellows,
Crazy in panic
Losing hope.

He stood his ground
against the brutality.
He stood proud, unafraid.

He brought
comfort to the
condemned.
A light in the darkness
To be sacrificed
BRAVE

I dedicate this poem to all the horses who faced fear and suffering in the First World War. Beauty amongst the carnage....

Peace, South Sudan
This is a plea piece for peace,
Peace for beloved south Sudan,
War against each other must cease,
That said and done,
Will put off humanitarian crisis,
My lines on this poem dancing,
to the rhythm of togetherness on a daily basis,
Interested parties has to stop financing,
Acts of animosity, atrocity
First World countries need to intervene,
Thousand are becoming victims of negative ethnicity,
Bring to an end war that's what I mean....

I am a bright red poppy grown in gardens near and far.
A Remembrance flower to honor our fallen, nothing to mar.
On the western front, in the first world war.
Bright red poppies like me were the first flowers soldiers saw.

Flowers growing on a battlefield really did astound.
We grew there because artillery fire broke up the ground.
Now I am worn on Remembrance Day, each and every year.
As humans wait in hopes that world peace will soon be here.
