Faded Picture In a Old Frame

Old faded Picture of a handsome young man in soldiers uniform from the first world war who gave his life for his country once so loved and cherished means nothing to anyone any more. A face without a name bought for 50 pence on a second hand stall not for the picture that's thrown away but for the frame. Peter Dome.copyright.2014.

[sigh] I wonder over & over if those who choice to serve would do so generation after generation if they truly realized this? But, so many sign up for economic reasons & that's very understandable. Shelter, food, healthcare & education are very hard to come by with no money & no hope of a job. Light & Love

Hi Debbie get your point. so many die to fight other peoples wars, to the powers that be, they are just pawns in a dangerous game. We never seem to learn. I guess what you say is true imagine being 15, 16 or 17 in the great war. what life experiencing, have they had how young an nieve. My poem reflects not only soldiers but anyone, who has lived and then forgotten from loving memory thank you. Pete.
