There stands a prized boat,
owner proud as a peacock...
rain says otherwise....

Premium Member Featherless Angels
How did you become featherless
Angels are always blessed and do bless
Standing too close to the fire
Devil got me in a crossfire
Make sure you always tell God yes...

Taking Stock - For Js
We full circle in featherless flight
Have found a wounded tree
And in its shelter spent the night
With a blanket of memory
You prayed for sunshine, and I for rain
But the time we lost is the only pain...

Featherless Angels
Restless spirits
living tears of terror ,
Whispering ,
are we lost or are we found ?
Surrounded in a weak world
where deaf ears and blind
eyes are bleeding ,
As featherless angels
take their last breath ....

Pilot Envy
Envy a pilot
     escape gravity's clutches
          for oceans of air.

Manufactured bird
     raucous call and rigid wing,
          momentary flight.

A featherless dance
in the shadow of a cloud,
          elusive freedom!...

Her Gaze
She rests,
Head on the table
Her hair flowing freely
A damsel to behold

Dressed in cream
Her gown ends just above her knee
Fitted to fit
From shoulder to hips

She rests,
As a featherless bird
Her flight is still far...
But her gaze on me I await...

Lost in thought
A window’s edge
A light breeze there did caress

Whispering not of
Booming birds
But of angels featherless

So now when I pray
Beneath these bars
My broken skull I press

I pray not to
Boasting bloated birds
But to angels featherless...

Featherless Angels
A wingless spirit, mesmerizing and pure..
Unfolds its grace, an angel so demure.
No feathers adorn this ethereal creation..
Yet radiance glows in every vibration.

A seraph's essence, delicate and bright..
Invisible wings, gleaming with light.
Beauty unbound, in form unconfined..
A featherless angel, a marvel divine....

Premium Member Butterflies and Swans
Does the caterpillar understand
it will become a butterfly so grand
Does the tiny ugly duckling realize
it will be a gorgeous swan, life-size

Does the blind, featherless baby robin know
that off into the sky, it will breathtakingly go
They, of course, can't imagine these things ~
That requires a human mind with wings...

Premium Member Alas, old blog
Alas, old blog, thou dost baffle me
Art thou a banjo short a cord
An off-key piano, tortured
A homeless cat meowing in the dark
A shaken not stirred literary libation
Advertising the talents of its writers
Redundantly raucous rhetoric
Echoing down a dusty corridor
Gathering the featherless dreams
Of forlorn and wingless words
...

the first I knew was on the breath
inhalation, exhalation - rapture
soothing melody rested on the unheard
angelic connection

the divinity of absence of thought
but presence of mind
a dance of souls
the invisible calm embrace

healing energy entwines
I am rested if I am gazed upon
watch me sleeping, protector
at peace with your presence...

In The Garden of War

Satan—
Disguised cherub
Stole into the garden

The hawk
Devoured the dove

Same wing—
Different feathers

Are we not
Just a variation

Same is the saying—
Early worms get caught
Least sleeping birds arise late

May tomorrow dawn
Resurrection of the doves

May the true cherubs
Arise and soar
May the wings of hawks
Become featherless....

They Are Raping the Dead
featherless birds
flying low fiery
wounds of heart
bleeding blue
why do we do
what we do
forgotten dance of love
fading memories of
ecstatic unions
black water
stagnant
in the vast lake of love
eternal flow to the
ocean curbed
giggling of the new
rain
undulations
erections of hopes again
summer is an old
book
they are raping
the dead
history is
a huge
lie
the dead...

Crow’s Feet

What dark epaulette drapes
the scare crows shoulder?
Gazing bleakly upon
withered corn stalks
rustling in the wind’s
disdainful howl.

What mistaken duty
denies dismissal’s call
condemns the sullen sentry
to cower at death’s touch
mourning silenced wings

What twist of fate
draws him to the ground
in featherless
shivering
death?

An Uncertain Time In September
light switch in the dark
fright switch
whirr of wings
unallocated
swift hither
pulse race over ice

bat

on the ceiling
fridge top
skitter of featherless wings
timid fear in the air
now clinging to a skillet hook
throw open the screen
wait
blurred flight-pass

out now

thread carefully
sew together a scattered panic
put heartbeats
back into their drum
make coffee
puzzle the moments...

Once upon a time,
Hope, a featherless bird was,
Which
For to escape from despair's land,
Its very own wings did grow
And
Onto the place of dreams and
Expectations, swiftly, flew.

Since then,
Each time one of us feels blue,
Hope flies near him
And on its aspiring wings of
Optimism and cheerfulness,
Carries him far from the gloomy
Ground!

Kitchen Frights
An uncertain time,
light switch in the dark
whirr of wings,
unlocated -
swift hither, swifter thither
soft mousy leather.
Fledermaus,
Bat!

On the ceiling,
fridge top,
skitter of featherless wings
in the air a timid fear,
clinging now to a hook.

Throw open the screen door,
Circle back, head ducked,
flap towel
shout something, anything but yes.
Blurred flight zooms past left ear.

Put heartbeats
back into their drum,
make coffee....

Premium Member Nesting Season
I don't particularly enjoy this time of year.
It's nesting season over here.
Baby birds fall from their nest out of the trees,
featherless and blind unable to see.
I take all I find back home with me
and attempt to save them hopefully.
I've researched the method and know the technique
for feeding baby birds safely and properly,
but every single one always dies on me
leaving me crushed as crushed can be.
I wish I knew someone who does this professionally....

To a Bird Singing In the Night
in the beautiful dark
          my bright rejoicing
              heard the sweet
                  tell of its happy ectsatic
                        completely man.
let poet's sing the day kind
                         drink me the shine
                      drunken on eternal
                   i love winging
                scragless, featherless
             in dark happiness.
          love consumes the blind...

Featherless Angels
gloom glides featherless angels to bleed the last ounce of ruby plasma

dim damp clouds strike silver lightening moisture from tense ebony eyes

inviting cobalt aura - glow saffron fire upon rainy faces

pleading for final noise to hit fading ears is howling newborn cries

entreating new flock to fly white Jupiter joy into sombre hearts

stars relinquishing titian rays as articles of their stardust soars

granting shadows plunging moonlight waves - melodies of hope in the light...
