Pilot Envy

Envy a pilot
     escape gravity's clutches
          for oceans of air.

Manufactured bird
     raucous call and rigid wing,
          momentary flight.

A featherless dance
in the shadow of a cloud,
          elusive freedom!

I loved these two images: oceans of air/and featherless dance! Awesome. LUv, Andrea

Some would argue that this is a senryu, but the line between the haiku and senryu are blurred by the contemporary haiku movement. That aside, I think this is a great piece. At first I thought I liked only the 3rd tier, but after further reading, I'm enjoying the whole thing.

I agree with Rick, the imagery is excellent. Who knew piloting a plane could be so freeing? You said so much using a fairly limiting form, nicely done!
