Coming Too Soon
COMING TOO SOON
by H.B.Ussach

Popping up like pre-fab stucco-concrete-aluminum posies,
Poking up on parking lots as donut shops and quick lubes,
They are plain, utilitarian, proletarian low-low-price bunkers
On a retail war-weary land....

Apple brought culture,
delightful extravaganza.
Fab group
harvest idiomatic jive.
Knockers, louts
many neutrals,
organized parasites, quietly rebel,
submit to uncompromising venom
when expediency yielded zealousness!

Want and Need
Everybody wants what they can't have
Most times what they can't have is just a fad

A fad that goes from fab to drab quite fast
And like a scientist in a lab going mad
It's sad to see

Everybody's chasing after some fab fad
But what they really need
Is what they already had...

A Dead In the Life
From claggy Bedders and Hornets hump,
From Cordell, Laws and Radar.
We trundle merry like a thump
To see Fab Adies sock.

In hoodie cloves and clippy breeze;
In Disco Dave we pledge.
I chortle like a tuneless wheeze
To see Bad Adie rock!

On Kunterblanche we make our name,
A pallet one and all,
Then Turb into myself again
To see Mad Adies frock....

Premium Member The First Poem That Made Me Love Poetry
A poem I have found
In The Wiarton Echo
Found eight years ago
Printed on the Poet's page
I rea\d it several times
The more I read it
I was drawn to the poem
Enjoying the poem i read

Before the day was done
I removed the poem
I kept it ever since
Reading the poem often
A poem that made me
Love poetry on the
Poet's page

The poem is:

how it began
How it began

Men in green uniforms
ice blue eyes and leathery lips
saw me in the crib
and declared this child
is an Aryan
I clicked my heels and
sucked my thumb
Mother took to singing
sentimental lieders
and received the fab
iron cross
I became the kindergarten's
Fuhrer
To my regret, peace broke
into my dream
I circumcised
we moved to Tel Aviv
the rest is history

Bagheera - the Black Cat
Black softness nestles in his sheen so fab as warm purrs vibrate his feline aura Gash-like, a red neck-sash swings a gleaming heart-shaped pendant, swaying a dangled flash. Ebon stretches as the midnight creature elongating his compacted frame, lithe. Reaching, he uncurls a bounding jaguar awake to the moon’s abracadabra

Mish-Mash Memories
What if smiling moon
Is brighter than the sun?
And the flakes of tumoil tend
To vile when fully regatherd

While i tame time my fab
I extricate by the vast drab
Of quality i fade for emptyness
The knobs of metaphor was

Red-hot and fickle fame flies
Off the vicinity of restless
Scimiter..ALAS! vile scimiter
Chill. Hot. Hate and lover

They all colide and positive
Wands lost the clasp of
Magical influence...

The band John Lennon
formed, called The Quarrymen
played half skiffle and
half rock and roll.

Four years later in
nineteen sixty, the band
evolved into The Beatles
with five men lineup.

John, Paul, George, Stuart,
who died and Peter,
replaced by Ringo were
nicknamed The Fab Four.

Their arrival here sixty
years ago, this month
triggered cultural and musical
movement, the British Invasion.

soon comes coffee’s steep
morning melody - no cheep
all robins asleep

3:30 - much too early, when i arose, to aeropress the grounds

soon the blessed send
of true wakefulness and blend
if my knees will bend

i will make my way out of torpor unless my eyelids beat me down

catch a dreamy cab
beg a few more zees ~ their fab
go for pillow grab

back under the covers for i’m yawning; not ready for the cockcrow

Premium Member With a Little Help From My Friends
“Billy Shears” was a pseudonym for Ringo. He was the drummer for the Fab Four as you would know. The Sergeant Pepper album for this group went far. Vocals for the second track were supplied by Mr. Starr. “With a Little Help From My Friends” had a good sound. On the back of the album cover, the lyrics could be found. Inspiration for writing comes in a stream and never ends. I get my ideas with a little help from my friends.

Turn that radio off. I don’t want to hear anymore. All they play is music from that Liverpool Fab Four. Those four English guys are polluting the airwaves. Somehow, their music is what my girlfriend craves. These bums look strange with that disgusting long hair. They drive the girls batty, but I don’t seem to care. Anyway, let’s get going. It’s starting to get late. If the Phillies win both games today, won't that be great?

Not Sure Where This Went But Fab Rick Was Somewhere In the Mix
I was going to swap my brain for another

would that be a murderous murder of crows

I hope you don't find this intrusive,
Or forward in any way,
Where are you, Rico?
Are you on Holiday?

I hope you are on Holiday,
And trying to give your brain a rest
Writing so many fab limericks,
It must be a cranial test.

Maybe, you are tired,
I hope you are not ill,
Is your brain temporarily unwired?
That would be a bitter pill,

To swallow, especially for one so bright,
I miss your contributions,
To PS
I sincerely hope you are alright!...
