Bagheera - the Black Cat

Black softness nestles in his sheen so fab as warm purrs vibrate his feline aura Gash-like, a red neck-sash swings a gleaming heart-shaped pendant, swaying a dangled flash. Ebon stretches as the midnight creature elongating his compacted frame, lithe. Reaching, he uncurls a bounding jaguar awake to the moon’s abracadabra

By the way, I know this poem is named after the Jungle Book's black panther, but that gives it an extra dose of magic hahaha.

yes...I wrote the poem on Halloween when I was told to keep Bagheera indoors because he might get kidnapped if he went out as usual...lol

Hello. I'm writing to thank you for your comment on my poem. I read some of yours and really enjoyed them. I love this one especially. Are you Wiccan Susan? This poem reads with such a sparkle of magic. Loving the words "warm purrs vibrate his feline aura". Thank you. Blessed be.

HI Marcela...no, I am not Wiccan though I do have some of their tendencies lol Bagheera is our adopted house cat - he is all black and so he was named after Kipling's panther :)

What a creative piece of writing. Loved this Susan. I had a black cat once (well, he had me) He was my best friend and he liked to play fetch. First cat I ever saw who would chase after something I threw and bring it back to me to toss again. His name was Buffalo, I miss that cat. Your poem brought him back to me, so thank you for sharing this wonderful poem.

A cat that played fetch! wow...Bagheera just thinks he is one of the dogs and prefers to eat their food and hang out with them until it's time to prowl the night with the raccoons lol I am glad my write brought back Buffalo - sounds like he was an extra-special cat :)
