"a Little Closer"

I love when your close

when our eyes only see us

                               and air can't find room..

Charlie Chaplin

He made us laugh silently
Through his wholesome comedy
Dancing with umbrella
Made fun of his fella
Famous for your eyes only

Writing sweet nothings
the words for your eyes only,
Crossed I's dotted T's

A love note sealed with a kiss.

For Canadian Eyes Only

Happy Thanksgiving to all you Canucks
I'd send you a card and maybe some bucks
but I'm broke
that's no joke
Stay close to the fire and wear your mukluks

One final colourful goodbye
A tender loving kiss good night
Slowly the evening settles in
On a gentle whispered breeze

In summer, I drag old bones to the beach.
High surf and bikini clad women teach
that, shining in the sun,
there are some kinds of fun
that are for me, not my eyes, out of reach.

An indoor showroom for
Invaluable art pieces
To attract your attentions
To the beauty of nature
Or your admirations
To the beauty of creations of men
Maybe for the eyes only
But no bargains

Who Else Will Read This?

Who else will read this?
It was for your eyes only
But my verses mean nothing now
My eyes scan the screen
Over and over
Are these emotions only for the poet?
It’s just me and my words
A match made in Heaven

His Whisper

He left a whisper on my pillow
Lingers with me night by night
Whispers to me, he is with me
Every moment of my life
I close my eyes only to see
Him standing there in front of me
I reach to touch, but I can't feel
Knowing now that he's not real.

the smooth surface of this plateau, one you ache to know- with risen tips following these curves and the valley again- increasing the echo- with whispered lips of me repeating- for your eyes only
~ something playful ~

Do You Remember?

Do you remember
When every word I wrote
Was a love song in itself
All for your eyes only?
A single statement
Spoke a thousand sentiments
All in the name of love
Well, hear these utterances now
Because they speak more emotions
Than ever before
I hate you

FOR YOUR EYES ONLY

I can’t decide what I want to hide
But I don’t have anything to show
To conceal all one feels
The fog’s obscuring all that I know
Conditions find the light that blinds
Clarify these blurry lines
I beseech you
Cut the cursed tie that binds

Premium Member She Is His Princess

She is a princess
her beauty enhances the day
the ocean and sky have never looked as blue
seagulls flock to get a closer peek
he is feeling romantic, but what groom could not?
she is his princess, today for his eyes only
he marvels they said their vows yesterday.

For Their Eyes Only

They are the eyes behind the glass..

No line of sight for them..

There's shadows playing in the dark....

                             and only certain darkness...

No light to show the way..

I Pulled My Heart Out and Looked At Her

I pulled my heart out and looked at her.
I had never seen her from this angle,
She was a child.
Hurt and lonely, with tear-stained eyes, only wanting to be held.
So, I reached out my hand and held her tighter and tighter
until we became one.
Until I was left holding myself.

The Stone Necklace

A white stone necklace
with its delicate chain
laid around her neck.
Matching the buttons on her blouse.
It was a nuance.
Yet I picked up on it.
Like so many I watch for.
Countless times
I have tried to look away.
But my eyes only see
everything
I have wished for.

My Face

Quite white really not brown as first stated,
olive skin, dark eyes only what i've created

Apply the bronzer, smudged charcoal lines, complete with mascara my personality
defined

Nothing too bad beneath, but what peoples expectations command,
a prisoner, a slave to my artistic hand

Only You

Before the world began Before the apple fell from the tree It was always
you with me A million years before man walked the earth Before I could
see It was always you with me When I close my eyes Only you do I
see The truth never lies It was always you with
me

Strolling today a gorgeous rainbow
Dazed me, raised eyes only to see
God's gentle prism of raindrops
Touching my own body
Cascades of softness
All around me
I was blessed
By God's
Rain

She was like the midnight sky On the coldest winter night Not even one star in sight Her eyes afraid of moonlight. I placed a rainbow in her heart But her eyes only saw darkness Instead of vibrant fresh colours Her soul bled black drops of pain.

Premium Member Hidden Shoebox

A shoebox tucked beneath my bed.
For my eyes only, the things unsaid.
I keep them close, yet out of sight,
Too tender to be seen in board daylight.

What might have been lies folded within.
Pressed flat to fit the coffin they’re in.
Old hopes and regrets long since dead,
Lie whispering laments under the bed.

The Brightest Light You Can Be

In a cave of darkness
I see a shining light
As it glares down on me
In this windy wild Night

As the light gets closer to me
My hope is flying in
I close my eyes for a second
And dream of friendship

I open my eyes only to know
That my dear friend Is next me
I turn to her and say
" the brightest of lights you can be"

Premium Member Prose Poem Beauty

Beauty is something we see with individual eyes, only time can reveal imperfections of conceit.Deep within our soul resides attraction ,waiting, asleep yet longing to be aroused. Our need to be recognised, reciprocate and hold close.A certain something, intercourses between eyes,a novel read by a glance ,might last a lifetime.

Premium Member Smart Phone

To remove all obstacles
Street and traffic lights
And urban trees from
Pavements of busy feet,
When the human race
Have eyes only for you.
Or one could argue
When mind and savvy
In overdrive
Without direction,
A foolish reaction
When falling over
The out stretched leg
Of the homeless.
