dancing like a whimsy wisp of width;
where waters drip and notes all slip,
sound patrols the minute holes that cause acoustic depression;
pizzicato strikes like bikes on blacktop every day,
leaving skids for little kids, loud scats scoop brats away,
with solos soaring boringly and duets dazzling dew,
it’s hard to not hear voices, different choices scream at you....

because laughter splatters
across the room
rolling, clinking,
splashed smiles savored
like wine-mellow
with bursts of flavors
rolled along the tongue

silly making 
blessing the room

a half @ssed confession or two
collection plate duets
death rattles in the pew.

Misery in the pew
virgins sucking on their vice
gossip spreads the news
over stained glass mice.

The cutters on the slice
blood soaked plastic Christ
sipping whisky over dirty lies
rolling a pair of blank faced dice.

Chained to the dark side of the room
with jesters and the loons
collection plate duets 
with a stained-glass rapist 
crouching down in darkened pew....

The wind has emptied its spectral graves.
Grounded birds sing of wings.

Raccoons climb the sounds of trembling throats.
Cats no longer hunt but howl at nothing seen.
Lights flicker, minds darken,
hands grow pale in the lowering clime.

Are ghosts seeking themselves?
Perhaps they search for we rootless beings,
while the wind duets and croons
of lost and empty things.

Are we chaff and husks
in the tempests mouth - no,
it just feels that way

and this day’s voices speak of it....
