School Closing
It’s true! I heard it myself!
No academic learning tomorrow!
The roads are too icy,
and travel is dicey
try to contain all your sorrow....

Slow Signals Short Poem On Double Posts and Other Things
Heard the word
Flags have unfurled
My double posts
Gone round the world
Have patience friends
For wayward signals
They are as dicey
As worm wiggles...

Winter Commute
The train was stuck;
The tracks were icy.
Weather cold;
Conditions dicey.

Stops and starts
Made travel slow.
Patience was
The way to go.

Home at last,
Relieved but spent
And wond'ring where
The hours went....

Two silly seals were whooping it up.
Scarfing down,booze,cold ales and stuff.
Things got so dicey,
She,in the sea, icey.
His tears fall for her on moonlit nights.
He wants her back,to make things so right!

Premium Member 'palatial Taste'
All walnuts have shells
  Some potatoes have eyes
Apples have skins
  That's no surprise

A pea's in a pod
  Corn's in a husk
Store veggies too long
  They'll smell like old musk

Fish have scales
  Chickens have wings
If eggs had three feet
Would you like them to eat

I find dishes spicy
  Make me feel dicey
My palate says food
  Tastes much better nude...

Premium Member Bracing With Glass Shards
Strolling on the broke glass as a brace With blood oozing from his dainty feet. A heavenly soul sighs a sickly grin in glut. Bestowals are ablaze with affection and trust. They involve testing to guarantee healing. The tearful eyes start eagerly to shimmer. The street of life is paved with mystery. Next, the breeze is incredibly dicey.

Premium Member Ears That Hear
If I tell you that I love you,
Will you say you love me back?
If, instead, my words are hurtful,
Will you go on the attack?
Truth and love, a dicey combo:
To care, be honest, balance seeks.
But joy can be in ears that hear
When not found in a mouth that speaks.
So, bridle tongue, use gentle words
And find the joy in what is heard.

H/T to Milton Hankins for his good reminder on a proper posture on both ends of a conversation in “Convince Me.”...

My Oxymoron Love
she wrote using only her left
I learned to write using my right
the dark took her heart to the night
I lived in sun and bright of light

she would say yes to caviar
to me it just sounded bizarre
she ate things that were too spicy
to me it sounded too dicey

she loved taking to the blue sky
I hated going high and fly
I was always just her one friend
never a word about boyfriend

true love thwarts logic, so in life
in time, she became my dear wife...

I'M Your Victim
Pieces of a shattered heart surround you
Your feet dance upon a broken soul
That night you said adieu
You had met your goal
Your strong, sensitive gaze
A smile that could set the world afire
It puts your victims in a thick haze
They don’t know their situation is dire
But something changes in a flash
That gaze turns cold, icy
You can only leave a long gash
Which was once pleasant has turned dicey
Yet, you claim another prize with glee
Why, oh why, did you have to pick me?...
