Analogies always

Build better broadcasts

Cause we prefer kinship

Descriptive meanings

O, how we adore ample analogies!

Still Asking Why
Refusing to define
Even worse to explain
On the surface descriptive
At its essence mundane
Restating excuses
Ensconcing the lie
The sage waxed poetic
  —you still asking why

Despicable

A descriptive word—
That’s always hitting its mark!
Attacks and hurts us . . .
	Hateful, wicked, and cruel . . .
Degrades the human spirit!

Fable
in your memories
ebbing, white-capped
look upon me in enduring favor

one moment plucked
from the rest
still crisply descriptive
when most is lost

these abandoned cells
bide in hope
of being revisited
begged to tell their fable
one last time

in your mirror
an unfamiliar girl
let me remind you...

Letters make them up
can be long and short
descriptive and simple
really it matters not

They can show love
but also can describe hate
since creation they’ve been used
to speak like on a plate

What would this world be like?
if we had not a word
would it be better or worse?
or would wish to be a bird

Of Herald Hermit
Herald Hermit is a man
Who for see's the future fast
As his eyes are envelopes
Diaries of distant past
As a Hermit he is this
As a Hermit loneliness

In a dark descriptive room
Watching the decay of day
Talking to his thoughts in time
Married moon-and he the groom
As a hermit loneliness
As a Herald Hermit is...

Sniffs of cotton candy glide
Glistening like hairy sugar bombs
Through barns of dozy prized cows
Stinky squeaky piggies squeal off-key
While whirligig Ferris Wheels grind and spin
In the hum of the Tilt-A-Whirl and giddy voices

Our Deb
We have a writer named Deb on this site.
Reading her work is a sure delight.
She works wonders with words and rhyme.
Her writings are delightful all of the time.
Deb’s subjects are many and diverse.
Descriptive and lyrical are each and every verse.
Being someone intelligent and astute,
we all owe this poetess a big salute....

And the Poet Writes On
The poet sat perplexed at the moving of the pen
Was he writing prose of was it poetry again?
Verse by verse it poured on out
It seemed to him a silent shout
Descriptive words, symphony and vibrant light
Reach out expressively, he knew he had to write
It wasn’t just some wayward words that streaked forth from his pen
He knew that he had written poetry again...

Not Describing Death
I would probably start with dimensions
but turn to the doctor for more
Seconds queue behind eternities
Air frozen in favour
Comparison would be next
But what is the opposite of life
Shrouded movie spectres
demons hell are plentiful
Lights that magnetise
Descriptive shade and shape
The virgin visitor
who meets us all just once
but then who would we tell...

Raindrops Falling
Raindrops falling,
          Blessings from heaven,
                    Like crystals continuous pouring,
                              It’s like feast we’re celebrating.

The sounds are soothing,
          Feels like sleeping,
                    Melodies are breathtaking,
                             Each drops like a hymn.

We have only a moment
till our present is past
for only in memory
can anything last

why we have photos
descriptive notes
recordings we make
thinking somehow the
moments can be stored
to take

but minds fail
and technologies have
glitches
just pass a whisper around
then compare while laughing
in stitches

wondering if life
is the butt of some joke
in the end all moments
going up in smoke...

Premium Member En-Courage-Ment
A three dimensional word
mean so very much
for we all need it
as we love its vital touch

Firstly we have an en
both by self are a letter
but when put together
do sound so much better

When we think of courage
we think of battles and war
but it means so much more
for so many things its needed for

It’s a descriptive word
this reaches its final part
showing what is meant
to speak it from our heart

Don’t repeat.
Make it short and sweet.

Really and Very
Are words that don’t carry

A crucial amount of weight
To a descriptive word’s state.

If you must abuse
The word that you choose.

Then at least speak the power
So listeners do not sour.

Say “Very” to the third
Even though it’s quite absurd.

At least you’re being clever
If listeners respond, “Whatever.”...
