Andrea, When they start blooming the bees come to get the nectar from the blossoms and it will sound like a roar. Thanks for stopping by. Sara

When I planted pampas grass in Tallahassee, bees started living in it. These plants look very pretty, but they do have razor-sharp edges that can cut you. I think you captured the image of pampas grass very well! (I haven't been online much lately.) Hugs, carolyn

Carolyn, Yes, it does draw bees and I don't know if that is good or bad. Yes, the grass blades are sharp and should not be placed where you would have to go around them very much. Tommy uses like electric clippers to prune them back in the spring. Thanks for dropping by. Sara

A great Haiku Sara. Didn't know grass could be male or female. I know trees and bushes can but was surprised about the grass. Nice job and l learned something. Smiles God Bless, JB

SS, Thanks for dropping by. Well, I don't know exactly what you are defining as normal. Pampas has male and female plants. The very spikey ones are male while the more fluffy, rounded blossoms are female. Sara
